- Dr. JPBI got a call this morning 3/4/15 at 7:30 p.m. from 333-255-2222 and id. further stated -- unavailable- when I answered, no one was there---and of course there is no such area code in the US started with 333!
- Caller: unavailable 333-255-2222
- EdenHave recently received many of these calls, the last at 7am this morning. (Do these folks not know how to check a global clock to see what time it is in the area code they're targeting?) Anyway, every time they call, I pick up the phone and start laughing as soon as they launch into their spiel. I think it's hilarious that this even works.
- Caller: computer scam
- Dottie| 2 repliesI never pick up number I don't recognize but this went to voice mail and when I listened I heard a bunch of people talking loud but couldn't make out what they were saying, they didn't leave a message. I have to laugh though because this number is at the Dept of Navy...
- Dottie replies to Dottie| 1 replyOh and when you dial it back it will not let you once you hit "333"
- Mike-in-MD replies to DottieThat is because "333" is not an area code in the North American Dialing Plan. "33" is the country code for France and "333" indicates the Bordeaux region. People with extended Caller ID would see "011" before the "333" and rest of the number. Chances are the call is not coming from France but is being spoofed by the scammers behind these calls using a VoIP service.
- MCMicrosoft support scam. Told him to f* off.
- DaveBSame as above. Called at 6:35AM. Said he was from Windows Service Center and my computer was being hacked. Like Windows would care if that were true. I guess they think if they wake people up, in their groggy state they may actually fall for this crap. I immediately told him he was running a scam and he proceeded to tell me I was f**king stupid. I then politely invited him to come over here from India or whatever [***] he was calling from and s**k my d**k and he had the nerve to hang up on me.
- Paul C replies to BP| 3 repliesOperator doesn't say Microsoft, but says they are from the 'windows department' and is receiving messages from my computer, when I asked them what my ip address is if they are receiving messages from my computer and they were 'lost'. Total scammers, lying to people to get money to repair their computers that work fine.
- Paul C replies to vguaNo they can't hack you by answering your phone. Your computers/devices use an ip address to communicate, your phone uses a phone number. Your ip address often changes and isn't reachable from someone calling you.
- ArchieNumber now blocked.
- AnnS C A M Said he was Microsoft. I told him he was a L I A R. He sounded Chinese Asian.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- CRI received 3 calls, one right after another I guess because I didn't answer. After seeing the other comments, I am glad I didn't answer. I have received calls before that are described by others where the person is trying to get my computer information. Please, stop them!
- Anon replies to Paul C| 1 replyTotal scam. Wife got called from someone with an Indian accent claiming the computer had malware and a virus and if she got on they could help her fix it. She told caller to call back when husband got home at a certain time and he'd handle it. Glad she didn't oblige them or PC would have been locked up or worse. She knows to let me deal with anything PC related. All scams. Don't be stupid people...just hang up and report all attempted frauds and scams.
- Anon replies to AnonBy the way, Microsoft or nobody else will be calling you to tell you your computer has been compromised. If neccessary, ask for a number you can call back and then verify. These people prey on those who are not very PC literate. Don't be one of those. Learn your way around and read read read to know what you are doing.
- ccsomething wrong with my computer, when said computer is working fine, he told me no it wasn't and that is when I hung up the phone
- JrI just got a call from this number at 3:21 PM. I did not talk since I do not know this number. the operator just said good bye.
- VJReceived a call this morning at 7:20 a.m. from this number! Seriously??? That's ridiculous!!!
- flighty1So irritating to get calls before 8 AM that are bogus and part of a scam.
- BabycakesCalled in morning. No one spoke as I kept saying hello, hello... I could tell someone was there and as I was hanging up I heard a man saying something...
- BabycakesI called the # back and it's not a valid #. Obviously a foreign call being routed through multiple #s.
