- KewAlbert said my computer was in grave danger with a virus infection and my computer would crash within 2 days. He gave his phone # and when I asked where he was calling from he did a terrible job of pronouncing Brooklyn. He was told to hang up.
- AlSame thing. A fellow with a thick Indian accent calling himself Mike said he was with Windows Internet Solutions and that there was a virus that would take over my computer if I didn't do something now! The good news is that he offered to stay on the line with me and walk me through how to fix it...great...NOT! I told him that this was a scam and not to call back but he said it was not and gave me this number to call him back on if I didn't believe him. The number is conected to a blank voice mailbox.

He called me and told me about problems in my computer and the things he told me were very true.
He fixed up all my probs and after that did not have any prob in system. - gail3681This heavy accented guy told me he was from windows technical support and I was going to get a terrible virus. I asked him what he was trying to sell and he told me nothing.

- alexGot a call from someone with a thick indian accent. Said he was from Microsoft tech support and that he was seeing warning messages coming from my computer. He said his name was Andy. He directed me to view event viewer under systems manager and to delete warning messages under event viewer. this is a scam. i am not sure what they were after but MS support does not have outbound tech support calls.

- HPI was suspicious from the start since my caller ID showed Private Caller. Most legit corporations (including Microsoft) would use a 800 toll free number. "John" said he was from Microsoft and that my computer would shut down in 2 hours. The stupid jerk actually gave me the number when I said would have to call him back (which I didn't) since I was just leaving.
- Margaret WillisI did not fall for scam but you should be aware of it. I got a call a man with a thick Indian accent saying he was from "Microsoft Technical Support" and they had received information from my computer that said I had two virus that would destroy my computer if I didn't do what he said. I asked for his phone number so I could call back. He refused at first and told me it was only a call-out number. He had me look at my event view to show me I had virus. I told him I am familiar with the items in the event viewer and they were NOT virus. He then told me he needed to access my computer thru a software program. I would not give him rights to that program. I said I needed to call him back and he gave me a number. 347-480-1148. I hung up and called that number and it was never picked up. I then received another call from the same company and I asked him to identify his state or location. He hung up on me. I did a google of his phone number and it shows many people are getting these calls and it is not from Microsoft. These people are getting access to your computer. - JaneI received a call today similar to the ones above, However, I did allow access to my computer and charged $149 for a Windows repair toolkit, security system, e-mail, data theft protection and anti rootkit, "malware" and "phising" thru Western Union. I am very concerned about my data now. I am normally level headed but they said they were calling from Windows Control Division and had been alerted to the danger I was in regarding undetected viruses on my computer.
I fell for this one and hope you can find this source for all lour benefits. He did give me this number and I didn't call it in time! Do I have any recourse? Can I stop credit card payment? It was Mastercard.- Caller: The Windows Solutions

- OylI got a call on 1/20/2012 from a girl with a strong Indian accent. She also tried the scam of telling me I had numerous viruses that were flooding MicroSoft servers and that she was calling from MicroSoft to help me clean up my computer. I was already suspicious but soon realized that without any action on my part, she was in my computer already clicking through various files!!! I told her that my phone was going out and that I needed to call her back. Amazingly she gave me her real number. She first connected me to her "supervisor" who was probably sitting by her side. He also had difficulty with English but said his name was Robert Jackson. He tried to steer me to the Teamviewer website to d/l their software and when I asked why MS was trying to sell another product, he hung up on me. I did call the FBI and will try my best to pursue this. First, Teamviewer needs to disassociate themselves if this is a sales ploy on their part. Otherwise, the phone provider needs to help authorities stop these people. I did call the number back and told the girl I had reported her to the FBI. She started yelling like crazy and hung up. I called back again and the "Robert Jackson" answered. I told him I would try to see them both in jail! I occurred to me that this may be a ploy being used to get control to computers to use for DNS attacks. Probably not but I am not computer savvy. Still, they work very hard to not have a real agenda and they are very savvy about what they are doing and the entire MS Windows system.
- Oyl replies to JaneI would call Mastercard. If Mastercard and other entities realize this is a complete scam, they will stop processing payments. That is one way to get back at them - if the authorities are not interested. I personally think this could be VERY dangerous and will do my best to alert all the law enforcement agencies tomorrow.
- RodahiI received a phone call from someone I had great difficulty understanding. After I asked him to repeat himself over and over, I finally got that he was with Microsoft Windows Tech Support and that my computer was vulnerable to viruses. I told him I could not understand him and did not know who he was. He said to call 347-480-1148 for confirmation of his connection with Microsoft. I hung up and called the number. This time a female answered and her accent was such that I could not understand her. I finally hung up. My phone rang again a few minutes later from the first guy. I hung up. He called back immediately and asked why I had hung up on him. I hung up again. From now on, I will just hang up. Maybe they will get the message that I am not interested in whatever they have to offer.

- PaulaI rec'd a phone call from an Indian or Pakistani man from the Windows company saying that my computer was errantly sending messages to the Windows headquarters. He was becoming quite pushy. His name was Daniel. It became very obvious that it was a scam when I asked him what Windows company was he with and he said "the windows" company. Phone number on caller id read 000-000-0000. After several questions from me as to where he was located in Brooklyn, how long had he been in the states, and how did he get my phone number - he said "never mind" but I asked for the call back number.
The 347-480-1148 was the number he gave me back as a call back number. Be Careful!- Caller: the Windows Company
