Just got a call and voicemail from this number, which shows as coming from NY, NY.  They're threatening me with legal proceedings about money I supposedly owe, WHICH I DON'T.  They said they want me to call before they take legal action.  Sorry Scammers, not falling for your lies.  BLOCKED!

Yep same message here few mins ago as well - bogus

The issue at hand is very time sensitive as we are about to start the legal proceedings pending against you. You reserve the right to represent yourself and for that you need to call us on the dedicated hotline to our division that is 347-753-8204. I repeat it s 347-753-8204....

Same message but they added that it was the treasury department calling.

I actually called these people back to figure out what sort of scam they’re trying to run. they left me a voicemail and claimed to be the irs and supposedly were about to start legal proceedings . I demanded to know who they were and what they wanted. Scammer refused to tell me, asked me why HE should GIVE ME any information as if it were a game!! I told him I would report him to the authorities and he laughed then called me honey. I hung up on him mid-sentence. Why do you report these idiots to?

I just got the same message from this number and found this page when I tried to find out the owner of this number. It looks like another scam from NYC.

Got the same call.  The message said they are going to start legal proceedings against me. Another scam.  There should be a national hotline to report these phone numbers.

There are. Now if there was only an easy way to find them. Someway you could easily look them up on the internet.

Us treasury takes scams like this

Called & left the same automated message twice in the same day, not falling for your scams “New York, NY”.

They left a message saying it was very time sensitive and were going to start legal proceedings against me unless i call them back. I used *67 and called back twice. The first call was answered by 'Officer Joe Smith' the second by a woman stating it was the US treasury.

Thank you. It's always some threatening scam artist. Like we're gonna fall for it.
