Is this a law office

My brother got this call today at work and on his cell phone, the guy said he was calling from the law office of David Thomas Hernandez and said that it was in regards to a payday loan that he never paid back and that he bounced a check with them. He knew the last four digits of his social, but would not confirm the address or any other information. Then I told him that I was a lawyer and he asked for a by number and he asked for mine then he got angry and said that he wasn't a lawyer but that he was calling on behalf of US Cash Services and then after going back and forth he changed his story again saying that he was now a sheriff to the nycpd. I continued to tell him that I know this is a scam and to stop calling, he hasn't called back yet, but all this just happened within the last few hours. I also knew this was a scam because my brother has no active checking acct so there is no way he could've written a bad check and he never had a loan. This guy should really get his facts straight before trying to scam someone. But this guy really needs to be stopped, they have been trying to lock this guy up for a while. So this is definitely a scam. I think he is the biggest P.O.S. that I have ever heard of. I agree with the person who said that he needs to get a real job.

This guy has been calling me non stop for weeks. He is calling my cell phone and my work. He told me that his name is Attorney John Mayer. And that the sheriffs office will be coming to my house to arrest me. Luckily I looked up his number and found  this site. When I called him back and told him that I knew he was a scam all he could say is oh. People really need to get a life.

Same call on my work phone for the last 3 days, he said he was downloading my information to the sheriffs office and i'd be picked up in the morning, well that was two days ago and nothing yet. I've been scammed before from these guys and it won't happen again!!!

This is like extortion dressed as debt collection. The agents' horrid threats are empty and their conduct is illegal. As early as possible it's critical to determine if your collector is domestic or yet another South Asian faker. The former you can sue into submission; the latter tend to be out of reach.

This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information from unscrupulous websites like the one you may have filled out an application with, and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.

I have beem getting the same call at least once a month. we;; it has changed, wemt from a detective to an attorney. was told i would be arrested if i didn't comply, i told him alright and hung up, well no arrest yet

I got the same call. Saying they deposited 400 bucks into my account. BS I cussed his non English speaking ass out;)

This guy that claims to go by the name of John Mayer, insisted that I had a past due payday loan and if I did not make a minimum payment of $300.00 by 2 pm I was going to be served and picked up by the county sheriff. .  Said that I needed to make payment by purchasing a money pak at walgreens, 7-11 , or another business. He could hardly pronounce US Cash services let alone John Mayer. MY dad came all the way from Idaho to help me resolve this and came real close to being the victim..

WHAT ARE YOU WEARING, HEEE HEEE HEEE. No really , this guy calls every year cause my co-worker filled out paperwork to request a payday loan and put my name as a reference. He has a heavy indian accent and he always tells us he will have us arrested and good luck to us. so I hope no one is letting this weirdo have any information. The number he is using this year 347-286-7145.

OMG...the same thing happened to me, just today so I looked up the attorney's office who he said he represented, which was David Hernandez and they said it was not them..completely different number and all..so I called back and asked questions and they kept hanging up on me...they wanted my information and 300.00 to settle case

This man called saying he was Ronnie Wilson and I was going to be arrested. He tried to verify the last four numbers of my social and I told him not a chance he was going to get that information. I asked for an address he said it was David Hernandez Law Office, 26 Court, Brooklyn, NY

These people have been harrassing me for over two years. Please don't give them any information. They have called my family and threatened to call my mother who is recently deceased.

This man keeps calling my office, he changes his name each time but his message is the same.  Pay X amount of money with a Money Pak from Radio Shack or be arrested.  I've told him not to call my office but he continues to do so.  How do I get him to STOP????

I got a call sayin "oh we could help you with your financial situation" sent me $1,999 check. Its a huge scam. The bank is fined for 1.9 billion dollars.

They keep calling me told me it was the number for treasury office and they were sending me free 7k...yeah right the government didn't just give away free money and use an Indian guy to call and tell me this. ..scammers

I got a phone call from a woman named Ronda she had a thick indian accent. She said she was with the irs and I was under investigation, also that I had a warrant out for my arrest. I asked her to please confirm my whole name and my ss, she hung up on me........
