- adw| 5 repliesCaller "Mike Anderson" with an extremely heavy Indian accent, said I owe thousands in Federal Taxes for 2010 and that notices had been mailed to me. Now there is a warrant for my arrest and an investigator will come to my door to talk to me. I asked where he was born and he answered the "USA". I asked, "When and where, since your accent is so thick". He hung up. SCAM.
- Caller: purportedly "U.S. Dept. of Treasury"

- Col TombThis is one (of the many?) so-called IRS scams that's going around. It was a crappy recording going to my answering machine and I phone him back to tease him. It was a crappy phone call. Area code 352 appears legitimate but there's no doubt it is a **SCAM**

- Caller: US Treasury
- Call type: Debt collector
- VAHuntress replies to Cheryl3 March 2016 Gosh I kept listening to this message over and over because I could barely hear what was actually being said since it was in slow speaking male autotune voice. I could also hear the accent but it was like they were reading a script with someone in the background coaching them with a whole lot of background noise. All I could hear was US Treasury; ignoring message could cause criminal offense; something about magistrate and repeated the number I should call back about 6 times (352) 458-5033. At the end a cheerful female voice comes on the phone with please call back and good bye. Now I know just to delete and move on.
- GeorgeGot the same call this morning and called back. Background in phone conversation sounds like a call center. Definitely a scam but sadly some will fall victim to it.
- LynnI had the same message left on my message from a heavily accented person saying he were from the IRS. His voice was garbled, and I could hears lots of noise in the background. I called back and told him I had reported his group to the IRS, CIA and the FBI and to NEVER call my number again. Real scam, for sure.
