I had the same exact experience today.  This is very deceptive and the man would not let me end the call so I eventually had to tell him to take me off of his call list & I hung up on him.  Later that day they tried to call me again, so I put them on my blocked list through Comcast.

Called, update google info etc etc. First off I am a Google Maps Editor, they called before and the guy (indian)this time said he had lost all my information and needed to do it again, he finally gets to the question "Can you use more customers?" I told him no, I have all I can handle right now, so he contradicts me and says, "well I think you can, and offers to get his supervisor, I hang up, he called back and left a message to the effect that I was making this hard for him and twice said that i was to expect lots more phone calls from "this number" and they would call every day, I am reporting the number, I have it noted as don't answer, I know some folks have blocked it, but this really pisses me off, I really want them shut down.

Phone number has called our office a grand total of 57 times. Usually once in the morning, and generally once in the evening at or around 7pm. All times they have hung up, or not spoken until we do. This is a phishing service that uses invasive methods to identify the peak times an individual would potentially answer the phone, so that they can tailor their so called "Business Solutions" to match the best possible criteria for hooking you into giving them sensitive information. Under no circumstances SHOULD YOU EVER GIVE ANY INFORMATION TO THESE PEOPLE! They are using a simple scamming method that manipulates loopholes in government legislation that allows them the right to bill to your address and name, simply by keeping you on the phone long enough to justify service fees. DO NOT ANSWER, DO NOT SPEAK TO THEM, JUST HANG UP AND BLOCK THE NUMBER.

I JUST received this same phone call from Alex.  He got all upset because I kept saying "no" repeatedly and finally hung up.  I KNEW it was a scam as I've had numerous calls like this before since my number is available on a couple of business sites.
I am sure they are targeting small businesses and trying to get personal information.  Please be aware that Google does NOT operate in this manner and they NEVER call you for personal information.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE...................NEVER GIVE OUT PERSONAL INFORMATION TO ANYONE OVER THE PHONE!!!

This lady called me seriously three times in a row. Each time I told her I wasn't interested in her scam and she kept threatening me that she would continue to call. I finally got home to block the number from my Google Voice account to make it stop.

I got just got a call from these flakes. Same thing as you all said. they said they were verifying my information and asked what my business was. Then they handed me to another person and kept saying "please stay on the line," "please stay on the line" then they asked if I was single and if had valentines day plans. I didn't answer and said goodbye. I don't know what there motive is be careful. Ignore this Call and hang up and report them.

I get calls all the time from 360-322-6159.  I get the same google pitch and one time tried to work it through, only to be transferred to Alex.  They say they aren't selling anything, but they are.  I don't answer the number any more and have actually saved it in my phone as DO NOT ANSWER.  So annoying.

Calls and bothers me at work.  Leave a static voice message (just background noises).  Hangs up after about a minute.  Annoying spammers. !!!!!

I work nights and they have been waking me up every morning about twice a week. I usually don't answer but when I ask to take me off the call list they hang up. It was a way better life before hey were alowed to call cell phones.  How do I stop them?

Would not let you end the call? Was he physically holding your finger away from the End Call button?

Got a call from this number today. Caller said she was calling from (inintelligible) Magazine and wanted to feature my business on the cover. She didn't even know my name, asked for "owner."  Said she wanted to verify some information for (unintelligible) Magazine. At that point I knew it was a scam and hung up.

I got a call claiming they were from Google. Asked basic info that is public knowledge. Then heard giggling in the background. No way that was Google, so told them I wasn't interested. They hung up on me.

I got the same call. When I said I want interested and hung up, the same (American sounding) guy called back 3 more times within 45 minutes.

Well I guess we can all just be [***] and hang up on people.  MAYBE they should stop calling after the umteenth time they've called and have been told to stop!!!

I just received a call from this number...the person on the other end was so unintelligible that I kept asking "who are you?"  Finally the garbled, mush mouthed person said she was calling on behalf of "xyzdjcmsjs" about my on-line account.  She did not say Google, but then she may have said that and it came out like "xmdhsiwhur."  Then she said she wanted me to verify information and I told her NO, I don't verify anything over the phone especially with people who can't speak English.  I hung up.  Hey, mushmouth...If you enjoy speaking in tongues (gobbledygook) then get a job with the Government.

I received a call from this number this morning, and the person talked so fast and mumbled so badly, I had to keep asking who they were. The man claimed to be from Google wanting to update my listing online. There was a ton of background noise so it was hard to understand. He said there was no cost to me (of course) and then quickly passed me to another man who started talking about SEO packages and promoting my business. He tried to butter me up by complimenting my website and work (I'm a photographer). When I said, "You're from Google? The other guy said there was no cost. How much does this cost?" he dodged the question and rambled on so I hung up. Just now, about five hours later, I got another call from the same number.

Same scam here, they called me from another number and then THIS number today to try again.  last time it was from a company called "29prime"

Wow! got phone call from 360-322-6159! You are right guys. it is scam.
Was transferred to the guy also with the accent and apparently SEO business called 29 prime dot com. Once I mentioned that I am doing SEO by myself he said I am not qualified and hanged up.

Same deal,
  Called at 10:30 this morning was a woman who was impossible to understand. It was noisy and almost sounded like she was at a zoo or something. She said she wanted to verify my business information and that she was "Global Tech" and that they were hired by Google. I was incredulous but I verified some public info (biz name and address) then became annoyed with the intrusion and dubious of her intent and started questioning her. As I questioned her, the ruder she got. At some point, frustrated with my questions she said "Congratulations! You have been verified, stay on the line I am going to transfer you to...." At this point I hung up and they called back immediately and again at 2pm. I filed a complaint with the fcc and blocked the number. Total [***].

AGAIN, received a call on my cell, from this number. I never answer and they don't leave a message.
