they call all the time saying they are "card services" to lower my credit cards.  I've asked to be removed off the mailing list - they say they will and keep calling.

Yes, these scammers just called me again.  Of course, I didn't answer, I never do.  In fact, I only have one phone with the ringer "on" and that is down in my basement.  I barely hear it, so it doesn't bother me as much as if it were ringing right in the same room.

For some reason, all of these calls stopped for a while, and now they are starting all over again.  No need to turn your voice mail off.  They never leave a message.  What you can do is just increase the number of rings it takes to activate your voice mail...for instance from 4 to 5 or 6 rings.  I think their calls are programmed to disconnect at 4 rings, so my voice mail is never even activated.

Almost everyone I communicate with now has an iPhone and/or iPad or iMac.  We have just started iMessaging each other, for free, if we have an important message to leave, and then return calls at a later time.  Except for doctor's offices, etc., I don't really have the need for voice mail any longer.  Little by little, my home phone is becoming obsolete.  Right now it costs me next to nothing, because of the triple play package I have with my cable company.  When the cost of that rises, I will rethink my options.

I do see a time in the not so distant future, when my home phone line will be totally disconnected.  If someone needs to reach me at that point, they can message me or send an email.

Card Services-----SCAMMERS   calling again this afternoon.   NO MESSAGE left.

Same here.  They have been told over and over to remove the number but IT DOES NOT HAPPEN.

CID said Card Services. Another number from the same old scammers. If not them, then some other scammer or questionable charity. I don't answer any of them. After 4 rings they move on to pester someone else.

I've spoken to them several times and asked them to not hang up on me but to remove my number from their list and the ignorant [***] that they are hang up.  I'd really like to stop these calls.

I have been unsuccessful in getting this co. to stop calling me so I finally filed a complaint with the FTC Do Not Call Registry. I press "1" after the message is over and get a live person who is usually rude.

This caller keeps calling my home with this "lower your interest rate to 6%, this is your final notice." Sure it is, EVERY time. Leaving aside for a second that 6% would be an increase in the rates I am paying on CC balances I do have, why would anyone take an anonymous caller as being a benefit? How do we stop these people? Preferably, putting them under the jail.

Tommy, you monitoring all your threads or what? Why not fess up and talk about what exit off the I-4 corridor you take to work, better yet, how about your business address? Yes, some times you have to make it personal when dealing with cowards!

I have received call from this number as well it is getting annoying, I reported the number through the International telcom (http://www.itltd.net/complaints-subpeonas.html) and submitted a complaint with the FCC.

I get these calls at least twice a day; have tried to tell them to permanently remove my name/number from their call list (pressed #1 to speak with a person) only to be hung up on.  Don't know what to do next or where to turn.  Anyone with advice... please post.

I have reported this number to the FCC and FTC and it does nothing.  They call me once a day.  I am so tired of it.  I now answer the phone and sing a song to whoever answers the call.  I have been cussed out, I have been hung up on, and one woman sang row row row your boat with me.  At least I am getting a good laugh out of it now.  Maybe they will clue in and quit calling me.
