- ChirpI got a call from this number. I called it back and it said the number is unavailable at this time. How are they getting past the no call registry?? They did not leave a message either. I dont think it is a bill collector, so it must be a telemarketer?

- LOLOLOL replies to EstebanYou just thought you won a cruise! Theyll probably ship you a bill in a few weeks, who knows.
- deang55 replies to AvengerAre they identifying themselves as a political call?? I feel they are more interested in selling you a cruise for a "nominal" fee and not a political call.....
- These Moron's are More Like A Plague replies to DawbyLooks like they are trying another new spoofed number out (the last one was 390-474-3940, before that 390-474-3914 and 360-474-3907) ... they have used multiple other numbers in the past too with area codes from all over the counry!
It's a good thing I inoculated my phone (via TrapCall) by adding this and a 'block' numbers (based on the (390) 474-3940 one! These lame bozo's are already blacklisted and will receive a disconnected number message. LMAO!
They can try till H*ll freezes over but won't get through.
I suggest either checking out GoogleVoice or TrapCall (cheapest is 4.95 a month), GoogleVoice can be free though... but will leave that up to you.
Both have much the same feature. Worth a try as well as reporting these and the other scam artists. Plus ... local and national media exposure (NBC, CBS, ABC/CNN, MSNBC, Fox... TV,Radio & print) along with getting our Reps and Senators in D.C. to get off their lazy you-know-whats and actually do something about these a**holes illegally calling each of us). Simple blocking won't work though ... as they spoof each number and the actual one can still get through. Good luck!
A bit more info that might help:
http://www.trapcall.com/
$4.95, $9.95 (most popular), $24.95 (most powerful/most features)
http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html
[See the "Block callers" feature here]
Includes: Number Porting.
But changing to a new number might be about $10.00
I'm sure there are others as well too.

These scum use Caller ID spoofing so blocking them probably won't help (Call screen only allows you to block 10 numbers and a phone with call blocking features maybe about 30); devices that have also been suggested have been Ring Controller and Digitone that lets you block even 800 numbers. But since the numbers these pigs use happen to be spoofed those mentioned above might work best!
Oh and either answering, calling them back or pressing a number won't stop them, they'll only get worse and will even pass your number onto other scam artists!
Important to note: These idiots had even called Washington States AG's office! So, I'm sure she's well aware of them by now too (it's a lot like that auto warranty scam where the idiots stupidly called Senator Chuck Schumer's office in D.C. ... that was what got that illegal scam operation shut down!!! So, who knows...)

- jmk05-11-12 got a prerecorded call in Missouri from this # - started as a 'political survey' then went into a pitch about a cruise.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- Bullseye for SpamThere is a robotic british female voice that says "this numbah in note available at this time" then hangs up on you.
- Bullseye for SpamOn second thought, it's perfect english with an Indian accent. Yep. That IS what it is.

"A member of our staff recently received an unsolicited “ROBO” call presented as a political poll. But the political poll was a head-fake. Instead, she was “given the opportunity” for a two-day cruise to the Grand Bahamas. All she had to do was pay a government port tax of just $59 per person. And when she asked for written information about the cruise, she was told that the company had none to send out, she had to sign up immediately and provide her credit card information to the caller.
However, this shipwreck of a scam reached the wrong person: Assistant Attorney General Regina Cullen. Regina works in our Labor and Industries Division and in past years led many of our high profile consumer protection cases. ...
“A ‘free’ cruise, which isn’t really free, will send you sailing on a sea of frustration,” said Washington State Attorney General’s Office Consumer Protection Chief Doug Walsh. “Add the patent illegality of commercial robo-calling and misrepresentations that it’s a political poll, and you know you won’t be joining Gopher or Capt. Stubing on the Love Boat. But you might be sailing on the Titanic Scam-Liner to financial doom.”
... Why did the cruise line pitch mask itself as a political poll? After all, it’s not as if everyday consumers sit at home waiting, with bated breath, to be interrupted by such questions.
Walsh reminds that political robo-calls are legal, but the same tactics from businesses are not. That being said, it wasn’t really a political poll. That means it’s still illegal. Remember that I called this scam a shipwreck? Scammers, while sometimes clever, aren’t always the brightest bulbs.
The moral of the story is simple. Don’t respond to commercial robo-calls—period."
How do you stop them?
Trap Call: http://www.trapcall.com/
Or Google Voice: http://www.google.com/googlevoice/about.html
are two ways. Or get something like ring controller or Digitone:

"can block calls from Cell Phones, Faxes & Telemarketing Numbers 800, 855, 866, 877, 888, 000 not blocked by the National Do Not Call registry or your Telephone Service Provider."
Other than those .... blocking these spoofed scam related numbers either with a phone that has call blocking features or using Call Screen won't stop them as they are spoofed numbers and not the real ones! The above services block them before reaching your phone and once 'blacklisting' them they'll get a disconnected number message! It's at least worth a try... - JackI'm tired of these unwanted phone calls
