- Fed UpHow infuriating that these crooks are operating their illegal telemarketing scheme on a national holiday! Their auto-dialer must be firing on all cylinders based on the number of recent reports on this site alone.
We also received a robocall from "CYBERREMOVER." I thought at first it was the scam with the heavily accented person (from India?) announcing that they need to remotely access your computer in order to remove a nasty virus; however, if you follow their instructions, they will INSTALL a very nasty virus that will ruin your computer. Hang up on these crooks. Do not follow their instructions.
Imagine my surprise (not) when this call turned out to be the old 'take a survey, win a cruise' scam from yet another phone number. The company is fake. The website they created is fake. The survey is fake. They are illegal telemarketers who are interested in one thing only -- taking your personal information and credit card numbers. I think it may be a cruise line or a travel agency behind this, or it may be a time-share scheme. Whoever they are, they are crooks who are making illegal telemarketing calls!
It is so important for all of us to report each and every one of these scam calls immediately to www.donotcall.gov.
You may say that "they" aren't doing anything about it, but they are. They just need to know how many people are being contacted and the spoofed number that is being used by these crooks. More information is more ammunition for the inevitable downfall of these scammers!
Do not give these horrid people the time of day. Do not ask to be removed from their list or go to their fake website to do the same. You are only confirming that yours is a real number. Hang up and report them immediately.- Caller: "CYBERREMOVER"

- NickJust got a call from this number, automated, regarding a political "survey", promising me a free trip to the Bahamas for two if I complete it. What CRAP. I wish to God that there was a button on the phone that would enable me to automatically report these morons to the don't call registry, or at the very least, send an electronic impulse to that number to blow up their phone, their computer, and them along with them!

- dg386Just received the call to my cell, since all unidentified calls to my home is completely blocked. I did call back twice, one from the cell they called me on to see if they had a number ID hooked their system and also from my home line to see if they had an auto answer for numbers not already listed in their data base. I also checked the number against 2 Government Agencies that are mostly set up as "watch dogs" for this type of thing and discovered that is scam to basically buy, in mass amount, all phone numbers that were legitimate working numbers. They call themselves "Political Opinions of America" and once your number is verified as active, two things happen; first, they use your number to inform you of a trip you have "won" from a sweepstakes you did not enter and second, they sell the phone numbers in varying quantities to the highest bids made by banks offering credit cards at low intro rates then they jacked up the interest beyond the point where it is possible to pay the money back. Even if only 1 in every 100 respond to these offers, credit card companies make a profit of just over half a billion dollars annually by this method alone. And, keep in mind this is legal, this is about 1of 500 ways your info is sold daily, and approximately 50% are sold to foreign banks under the disguise of US owned banks. I realize this is a long explanation, but it needed to be said and if this protects even 1 person, then it was worth the length and time of response.

DARN! Now I wish they had not hung up! Maybe geting thrdr idiot flustered is the way to get my numbers off the scammers call list. - LS in Texas replies to peeved.in.TXI got the same call from the same number about the same time and my number is on the Do Not Call list, too. These losers do not pay attention to the DNC list because there are no repercussions for violating them. What's the point in being on the DNC registry if there is no accountability for violators?
- SusanThis number dialed my home number around 12:20 PM on Memorial Day. I've had quite a few political surveyors call me in the last few weeks, but none offered me a cruise or anything. Hanging up is the best answer for unidentified numbers.
- rosieThey just called me a few minutes ago...no message. Thanks dg386 for the explanation. For the longest time now I keep getting calls from Washington State area codes. And also a message once about winning a trip. Thanks also to all who post here about this number.
