They said it was for my Visa or Mastercard and asked if carried any balances on my cards. When I said no they hung up.

This number is a pain in the ...! Bottom line, this is a debt collector for Visa/Mastercard. IF you pick up or take their call, they will call twice a day and not let up. If you get lucky, they will call every few days depends on where you end up on their computer. Now, if you do not owe them any money, THEN they will as if you want to consolidate your cards onto their card. I HATE getting these calls. Best advise, if you don;t know the number, don't pick it up. I know its a pest but, its best.

I got a call from this number on 05-17-2010. I didn't answer, but I assume it is the same debt consolidation scam that everyone else here was complaining about.

They will hang up even if you ask about the name of the person that is on the account.  It is a scam to get your credit card number.

I just missed a call on my cell phone from this number. I didn't recognize the number and didn't answer.  It has to be a scam and random dialer. None of my credit card companies have my cell # and they only bother me if I'm late -- I'm not.  If they have to ask if you're carrying balances, you know it's not legit -- they're trying to get your CC info.

I had a missed call from that number just a few minutes ago. Apparently its a good thing I didnt answer.

yea I got a call from this number on 5/17/2010 but I didn't answer and I have no idea how they got my number

i get calls from this number all the time and when i call back it says press one if you do not want to be on their call list anymore. yet they keep calling. ugh.

Message states at the end, "Press 1 to speak to a customer representative."
I press 1.  Rings and answered: "Hi this is Amber.  I'm here to help you.  How are you today?"
I say, "Amber, I am unhappy."  Amber: Long pause, then  ". . . I'll take you off the list."
I say thank you and she says, it's taken care of.

Ignore the calls and they will keep coming.  I've yet to see if what I did will stop the calls.  Gawd I hope so!!

Lower my interest rate to 6.9%? No thank you. Scam.

telemarketer , told to press 1 , got ahold of a rep, tolde her I did not want these telemarketer calls on my CELL!! and yet they keep calling every day!!

Marcus, the telemarketer, just called me a "stupid [***]" when I told him I didn't understand his offer, since I have no credit cards.  Are you kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?!

How is he still employed, and why can't I call back.  What a joke!

A lot of you are getting angry, I just sigh and relax, life is too short anyway.
Also, you should be smarter than to answer unknown numbers, so fault on you, too.

Anyway, phone numbers are gleaned, bought, sold, and traded between companies all day long, all over the world.  If you don't know this, again, your fault.

Keep your personal info protected at all times, get on the national do not call list on your own, get on the national no junk mail list on your own.  Do a few minutes of research and save yourself some points on your blood pressure test.

Recorded message claimed to be from cardholder services, and that it was urgent I call them back about reducing my interest rate. Since that doesn't apply to me, and this was on a cell# I'm certain I've never given out to any company, I hung up at that point, but am highly offended that such calls continue despite the FTC "do not call" list.
