Sam thing. Got a call from 404-524-0000. Called back and said number is out of service. Very strange!

Cell phone showed this number. I did not answer. They did not leave a message. Reported to NDNC.

Call disconnected upon answer.

I HAVE BEEN RECEIVING A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER 404-524-0000   THAT PHONE IS ACTUALLY A PRE-PAID PHONE CALL USED BY TELEMARKETERS.  TRYING TO SELL A OVERSEAS, AND LONG DISTANCE  PRE-PAID PHONE POINTS.    THEIR HOME BASED AS I RESEARCH MYSELF IS IN CALIFORNIA NEAR LA.

I too received a call from the McIver Law Group,it was actually a friend of mine using a prepaid calling card and he of course had no idea what the law group caller ID was about. I'd like to know if anyone can tell me what benefits a third party would get from issuing calling cards that can do this?

I got a call from this #. Caller ID came up as McIver Law Group. They were trying to sell me web SEO. I could barely understand her. I hung up.

Our office gets calls from this number but they are screened out as "nuisance calls" giving them the option of leaving a voice mail message which they never do.  They must be selling something but who knows, they are an annoyance though.

I just answered a call at my office, in MS, and she said it was regarding the companie's website and needed to speak with the owner and I said sure and put her on hold, pulled up the # that showed on my caller ID and it said bs so I just let her hold while I read some of this stuff and she hung up. She wasnt' on hold long either but I called back and it is disconnected it says so it's a bs call!

Called my cell, when I answered, asked to speak to 'person who buys your ink and toner'. I told them it was not a business phone. She asked if it was residential, and I said no. She was then thoroughly confused, and just hung up. A lot of noise in the background, suggesting this is a 'hot room' with a number of telemarketers reading scripts and trying to get you to buy overpriced ink and toner (and probably other stuff as well).

Got call from this number around 4:20PM.
Have bunch of relatives outside of this country and today is my wife's birthday. Could be some calling card call. No voice message, so now, after reading this blog I regret for not picking it up.

I just got the same call from the same "ID" Mciver Law Group.  I did not answer it, and immediatley googled it which led me here.  What can be done? This is rediculous!
Seems like with all the technology we have in this world, someone could find how this is happening and stop it. I'm sure the "real" Mciver Law Group is just as frustrated.  Maybe they should do something about it too!

There's a legitimate reason for a company to hide its identity from those it calls???  Sure, if they are criminals.  Otherwise, no, we have laws that say otherwise.  Telemarketers MUST provide via Caller ID both their company name and real phone number when calling existing or potential customers.  Therefore, a spoofed number violates the TCPA and IS A CRIME.  They must also verbally disclose their name, number and their physical address to those they call.  They must maintain an internal no-call list and honor requests to not be solicited further.  They must scrub their call lists of all state and federal DNC numbers.  They may not repetitively drop calls.

That these regulations are not sufficiently enforced does not make noncompliance okay.  If I murder someone and never get caught, is murder legal?  If I move to another country am I immune from prosecution?  Consumer/citizen activism is the ONLY thing that provokes enforcement of the law.  If no one complains, nothing is done.  The value of input from people who have been called through this spoofed ID is that commonalities can be drawn, as you yourself have done, making us all better informed.

This number called our office today.  I answered, there was no return answer.  I waited a few seconds, heard a click, and then a woman who sounded Filipino started a script:  Hi! Can I talk to the person in charge of”…   That's when I hung up.  I should have stayed on to see what she was selling, but I had a "legitimate" call ringing on our other line.  I'm sure they'll be calling back though, so I will post more info if I can get it then.

10-7-08.  Called my CA area code 805 businsess phone and hung up on answering machine.  I am on Do Not Call list. Below is a list of about 118 calls in the last four months. Is anybody really doing anything about our complainst?

I had a call from this number today and caller ID said it was McIver Law Group.  I googled that and their offices are in Atlanta, GA and Washington DC.

Left no message. No clue who would be calling me from a law firm in Georgia.

been receiving calls from this # for over a week and today there was somebody there!  Free 2night 3 day stay to promote "their company" never could tell me who"their company was".  I said no thank-you and remove me from your list---sneaky do not call lists don't include calling card calls!!!  That is what this is!!!

Received call didn't answer called back disconnected. Is a telemarketing scam company. Using fake caller id# . Contact your local fbi office or attorney general for your state. They're using fake caller id systems. Don't give any personal information over the phone.
