- Tired of garbageI've been getting calls weekly from a wide variety of numbers, including this one. Sometimes from Colorado, sometimes from Georgia and sometimes they mix it up and it's from another state. Just now, it was this number from Georgia. First of all, I NEVER answer unfamiliar numbers. Second, I google the number in question. IF the number comes up as scam (and 99% do), I don't even listen to the voicemail. I just delete it and move on with my life. I had to take back my life, and listening to these voicemails left me scared and shaking. They've ruined vacations, days at work, events with my kids. Sure, maybe every now and again I'll miss something important, but I rely heavily on this particular site to tell me if the message has a good likelihood of being a scam. If it's legitimate, they'll send a letter by US Mail. Guess what...I've NEVER received a letter. I have alerts on my credit report, which I check monthly through Experian. I am quite aware of what debts I have and they get paid on time. Just an idea if you, too, are tired of feeling like a hostage!

Please come better than that and I pray the music that was playing on my callback tone saved you from calling someone else. Get your life. Quickly

- AnonA Rachael Ross w/ Fraudulent Division called this a.m. Stating a fradulent claim has been charged against me, which will be filled today in court. Press 1 for pretrial options. This is a bunk call. People like this should be indicted. Nothing was said in regard to my name, location, or anything. So disgusting.

- Kira D. Cattan| 1 replyYep, same people.... I've gotten this call, and a call from other Legal Fraud Division people. Thing is, I let them talk to my voice mail... then I make sure my bank account is safe, and that my SSI people know these idiots are out there. My thing is, if they really were legal types, they wouldn't be annoying me, they'd be sending me snail mail first.

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - JS| 1 replythey have a new number today. 678-712-4682. For your blocking purposes. Scumbags.

- AnonSame 'Anon' {person} as reported above on August 14th. Today, they have a new twist. 'Investigator Blackwell with the 'Finalization Division' regarding a fraudulent check. That today if they do not hear from my attorney or myself an affidavit will be filed in the County I live in and have been duly informed, that if I do not call them back, the right to counsel will be waived; to govern myself accordingly and good luck to me.' Have been receiving these types of calls for several months now. Believe them to all be connected. I owe nothing, my bank account is in perfect condition. Is rather frightening, though and tiresome. Any comments? All the numbers are notated as scams.

- Sunny replies to Lisamb4269How did you reach level three communications department?? Am very tired of these people. Many thanks!
- ArtloverThey keep to their script pretty good, exact same threats to me. My husband and I had our debit card numbers stolen in March. Thank God DH checks our Acct# every few days as thieves only did a few hundred in theft before we froze bank acct and changed it. That's how these people have so much information on everyone, you use your credit/debit card, number gets stolen, thieves request information from Experian or other credit reporting agency's (Experian charged us for giving our info to thieves then told us "how was Experian to know it was thieves asking for information?") then they know everything about you and sell your information to whoever will buy it. If you are getting calls from these people check your bank accounts and make sure there are no new credit cards in your name. Credit agencies are making this kind of financial torture easy for fraudsters and the law is not taking it seriously enough. Somone should start a petition to the Goverenment to protect consumers and make strict laws against this theft. I would but I'm a disabled veteran going through numerous medical procedures. Good luck to all. P.S. These are the numbers used on me 678-752-3221, 678-712-3477, 404-341-9775, 404-341-9784
