Received a call at work from a person Identifying themselves as investigator Humphries. He said I owe money to a company I never heard of. Then he said he is going to have a warrant issued for my arrest for accepting money for a payday loan and closing my bank account. I don't know what he's talking about. I aksed him for information and he told me to call him back at his number and he would pull up my file. Why he couldn't do that while I was on the phone I don't know. He told me I owed money from 11/14 and then he said oh sorry I meant 9/15/08 2004. He said I owed $900 when I called him crazy he said actually it's $450 but with legal fees and interest it comes to $900. Whatever. I'm contacting the state attorney general's office and the FTC

    i fell for it
Well i got the call today and they are very convincing.  They have all your information....name address last digits of your ssn, claiming i owed money to a debt collector and if i didnt set up immediate payments that they would be sending someone to my county with a warrant and to my work place(not sure if they knew that too or not) but they just wanted a mastercard or visa card to collect the debt!  like a dumb-___ i gave them a schedule to start paying it.  Thankfully my husband has a brain and we got the card canceled before they took anything.  Don't fall for it like I did.

My dad called to tell me I received a message from this number on his answering machine today. He said his name is McPherson and he has a case number of a check complaint in my name and is needing my atty info or a statement from myself. I havent used checks on my bank account in years, so this is definitely [***]. I was a debt collector for almost a year and a half for an atty, so I know my rights. Dumbass, I'm gonna find you, and when I do, it's on!

I keep getting  automated  calls from this number Saying that they have been trying to deliver me legal documents and that I need to contact them immediately to resolve the issue. They didn’t say the name of the company they were, what the legal documents they were pertaining to, or why they were trying to deliver them or anything. It’s creepy and weird. I will be contacting a lawyer.

Have you tried blocking the number at all? If that doesn't give you satisfaction, try killing the call before an automatic answer takes it. No way to leave bogus, ominous messages, your number becomes a waste of their time to call, which they eventually realize. No further details are provided because the caller is counting on the threats being enough to plan past it. You can cut back on worthless calls by simply letting your phone ring if you can do it. Nothing creepy or weird about an extortion scam.~I Was Prepared~JustinCase

This is a spammer claiming all kinds of weird things. They leave it up to you to get paranoid and figure there's a mistake and call them back. I called them back on a shielded number and got a no I'd answer phone saying I needed to call back during business hours. Definitely a fraudulent financial actor intent on collecting money from scared people. But also a coward or group of cowards and liars.

I received 2 scam calls, one on April 24th and one the next day and was left the following voicemail message:
Multiple attempts to deliver documents to your addresses on record have expired, in order to resolve this matter and avoid legal action, it is imperative that you make contact with our office now by pressing 1 to connect to a representative or call 888-203-3285.
After the second call, I called the Clark Howard Consumer Action Center at 404-892-8227 and read the voicemail message to Sue. She said they receive multiple reports of scam calls on a daily basis and that there’s just too many of them to document. Sue advised me not to respond to the call.
