jp morgan card holder replies to Joyjoy
I am getting the same message everyone claims, but I am a JP Morgan Chase Debit card holder.  The number that have (part that they show) is incorrect.  I *67 the number and it is a Automated line and I played with them entered (2) different numbers and the system knew I was entering a incorrect number. Very interesting.  I tried zeroing out but you can't.   Interesting set up.  Rule of thumb never give any information from TEXT OR EMAIL.  I would even question if they call you directly and claim they need your info. Call back the institution and then if that info is required you give it.  Do NOT go by the number they contact you on.  This number saids you have reached JP Morgan service line.  This could confuse some but don't let it be you!   SCAM SCAM SCAM.

I spoke to sprint about this because I am getting the same thing several times a day. They said that is is with out a doubt a scam, but because they keep sending it from a different address every time, they are having a hard time blocking all of the accounts. He said the only thing to do is to change my number, but I have had the same number for 10 years, I am not about to do that. Tried to call the number to see if I could get a real person and I can't, it just keeps asking for my account number. I put in some bogus number and it just tells me that it is not valid and that I need to re enter it...UGGGGGG!!!!!

    text message:
    JPMorganEFS Has Limited Your5111-82AccountAccess. ToReactivate Call(405) 237-3800

    From:
    dquwyw@messaging.sprintpcs.com  (this apparently keeps changing)

I spoke to Sprint and they are only able to block anymore text messages from this origin.  So if it changes, that doesn't help.

I spoke to JP Morgan Chase and this is how that went:
I spoke to an associate in personal accounts fraud first.  He informed me that the company is JP Morgan Chase and that he didn't know what company I was talking about after reading the text message to him word for word.  After informing him that I was aware that Chase had bought JP Morgan and assuring him that I wasn't a customer, he transferred me to Security.

I spoke to an associate in Security and informed her of the previous conversation and that I was not a current customer of JP Morgan Chase and that I never had been (which I ended up telling her three times before she figured out how to listen to me).  She implied that I didn't know who I was banking with when I informed her that my bank wasn't even on the same side of the state that I live in and that JP Morgan Chase was nationwide and that she would need to verify that the company didn't have any information for me - which she seemed surprised to discover that there wasn't any.  She apologized (I think those are scripted) as an afterthought, but oddly enough didn't ask me for any of the information off of the text message before she hung up.

    Received text from jfmpkf@messaging.sprintpcs.com

    JPMorgan EFS Has Limited Your5111-82AccountAccess

    ToReactivate Call: (405)237-3800

I found this website googling this number.  I called Chase Fraud Department and the recognized that this is not a viable number they own.  I assume the Chase Fraud department is reviewing the number.

Received the text today at 3:21 pm

It is similar to others, it reads,
JPMorganEFS has limited your 5111-82 Account Access. To reactivate call (405) 237-3800.

I did not have a chance to call JPMorgan and/or Sprint. However, when I checked my email it appears as if someone was trying to get a hold of my Sprint password.
