This is a new one for me.  They are gone for the day. but they will hear from me tomorrow.  Being a  collector myself, I know exactly how use a phone to invade their comfort zone and stink up their cubicle.

On the phone you can be anything you need to be.  Polite, firm, rude, or jerk.  I let them decide.  If they take my number out on the first call, they will never experience firm etc.  I do hope they call again because I love messing with these people especially when it's a wrong number. It's a hobby!!!

Thanks for the good info on Stellar Recovery.  Especially the extension numbers.  I don't owe anything and a few direct extensions can make the difference between my being a rash or a seething boil.  I will call them tomorrow and I guarantee I will have more fun than they will.  I love this stuff.

They call multiple times throughout the day. They have been harassing my family members, even my ex-husband for over 10 months and calling my work.  This agency is ruthless in trying to collect on a payday loan that I defaulted on. Yes, I owe the money and want to pay it back but not like this. They have threatened me, with being served to go to court, threatened me with possible jail time, check fraud and wage garnishment….seriously!!! After two weeks of this harassment from Stellar Recovery, Incorporated, I finally got some help from a company called Consumer Credit Helpers.  They’re a not for profit organization and never asked me for a dime.  CCH helped me file a complaint with the States Attorney General Office, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) and finally the Better Business Bureau (BBB).
Next they put me in contact with an attorney, who feels we have a case against Stellar Recovery, Incorporated for several FDCPA violations. They were great to talk to, with wonderful advice and information. I recommend anybody getting harassed by Stellar Recovery, Incorporated

So remember, if you get called by these criminals remember that you have rights, read the following and make sure you file the necessary complaints at the proper authorities:
Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.
