- Sherree| 4 repliesI received a text from this number about an hour ago. I called the number back from a public phone and got a recording telling me that my debit card had been suspended and to reactivate it press 1. I just held the phone and didn't press anything and after a brief pause a recording asked me to enter my debit card number, so I hung up. I called Verizon and told them what had happened and about this forum--customer service told me that if they get several reports on this they will open an investigation in their fraud department. So if you have gotten a text like this, please take a moment and report it to Verizon so they will get enough complaints to escalate the issue for investigation. This is a phishing scam and it needs to be stopped.
