Yes if they have your information as far as your bank account, you should close it out now! That is what I was advised to do by the Attorney General's office.

Thats great news...be sure to file a report if they continue. I just got done doing all of that. It has been such a headache but  at least I know I am protected now!

Please file your report. This is what I had to do. Maybe if enough of us do this, it will lead them to the responsible party for this. I hope you get this all worked out

Hi. I received a call a few weeks ago regarding a payday loan that I didn't do. I was told by Ms. King that if I don't pay the loan they will file charges against me. I was about to call them but something told me to Google their company, then I saw the numbers match and found out thanks to the fellow posters and Bing I found out it was a scam. Wow!!! It's a good thing I didn't pay them or give out my real bank information.

I got the same "urgent" voice message.  This from a woman and as she spoke I could hear someone in the background telling her what to say!   This woman almost sounded credible expect for the pauses in her delivery and the coaching in the background.  Previously I have received the calls from the person with the heavy foreign accent and hyper American name.  Thank God Google intercepted an attempt to get into my email that came from the Phillipines. This is just ridiculous.

i got a call yesterday at work stating that simmons smith and associates was calling to collect o a pay day loan in the amount of 1875.00. I explained i did not owe any pay day loans and that could she tell me who it was and she said the orginal debtor was cash now, but it was against hippa to give me any more information so i requested she email me the letter, i got it last night and i googled simmons smith and associates and found this site! So i emailed them back this morning and told them not to bother me again or i would contact the local sheriffs department and sue for harrassment, i get a email back saying that wouldnt be a problem however they would send my account back to the orginal debtor and i will get a statement from them for payment in full in 60 to 90 days! Really!

I have had Simmons Smith and Associates call me four times now. The first time a Ms. King called and said that I had a payday loan that was in collections, I asked who the loan was through and she told me it was through 500fastcash.com. I told her that I had not taken out a loan, but of course she wanted my bank statements from the 6 months prior to April of this year. I told her this loan was not mine and that I would not be paying or sending statements on something that I had no proof of and hung up. I then googled the company and saw that they are a fraud. I figured I would call back and see if I could get documentation, took me a hour to reach Ms. King, who of course became VERY upset when I asked for documents. Saying that it was illegal for her to send anything, ect. I know that it is within my rights to get these papers and stated that to her, just made her madder. Her last comment was "I guess we'll see you in court," to which I replied "I guess so!" I then called a local attorney and she had me call the Attorney General, who also said this is a scam but that there was nothing that they could do. Since this all happened, about two weeks ago, I have pulled my credit report twice, changed my bank account, and pulled all of my bank statements.
The second time they called, I again answered as advised by the Attorney General, told them I wanted documentation and was told that it would take 90 days to receive and hung up on them. Oh and this time it was not a payday loan, but a past due amount that had come to them from my internet provider for the same amount.  
Third and fourth time they have called I have not answered. Don't plan on ever talking to them again.

I told them to send me somthing in writing... I figured they wouldn't because the "supv" says it will take 6 months..really??? But hey I did get a letter... Look like a kid typed it... Had my name in lower case letters... I'm like professional please???  so anyway... its not legit... but the address on this letter is 407 Lake Howell Rd Maitland FL 32751 and the numbers attached were 1-866-847-6165 & 407-956-4210... They may be bogus but if you are filing a police report this may be helpful.

I received a phone call from Simmons & Associates stating the they have a case number on me and I needed to call them back today.  I was not sure who this company was so I googled them and I came up with this sight and I will not be calling them back.  If they can't  send me something in the mail then I guess they can kiss anything from me good buy because I don't know who they are.  I am not giving them the time of day.  If you check your state law about Statute Of Limitations. They can not do anything if it was something you may have take out 5 years ago.

I received a call from this number stating that they wer a firm called Simmons Smith and Associates for a loan from MyPayDayLoan, I informed her that I didn't have a loan with them, and she replied that it was sold to them from another company.  She said they would settle for $300.  I told her that she needed to send my the original documents with my signature........then hung up.   They have been calling every 5-10 minutes after that

Just got the call from Ms Jones (yeah right....they all use fake names anyway) who said this matter came across her desk and needs to be resolved today. So I returned the call and asked her for original loan documents with MY signature which if I request must be supplied to me to verify any debt according to the FTDPA. She got flustered and sdaid they had purchased this account from Mycashnow which I replied then YOUR company should have gotten these items. She said it was illegal to provude eme anything to which I told her that it was illegal for her to NOT send me anything. What complete morons that prey on peoples fear to get their banking info so they have access to drain your account at will. Remember you DO have rights, do NOT provide banking info under any circumstances and BY LAW they have to provide you PROOF of the debt, not something sshowing where they purchased it for pennies on the dollar, but ACTUAL PPWK. Also take the time to look at your credit report and dispute any of these jerks. They must provide the credit reporting agency proof as well. What you may not realize is they sell these off all the time and EACH company they place it with can and will put this on your credit, which means you could have several debts out for the same amount which can destroy your credit rating. You can dispute your credit report activity ONLINE, its free and they have to either get proof or off it comes. Just an FYI. Don't get bullied or scared, that's just what they want.

I got a call from Paul who said I owed $450 but they would take $300 today - when I asked for something in writing with his company's letterhead he got upset, said he would mark me as uncooperative and would bombarred me with phone calls....I told him that I was sorry that in these desparate financial times, this is how he had to provide for hinself.....why are they allowed to do this???

Keep getting phone calls at my government job from 407-956-4210> they say they are Simmons, Smith and Asssociates, but they are a scam company.  I have contacted the RI attorney generals office about them, but I am also letting you know as well.

Please make them stop. THey even called and scared by 84 year old mother in NC

these people called me and said I owed $750 on a paynowloan which I never took out.  Wanted a years worth of bank statements fax to her.  I am glad I didnt send her anything after reading all the information. Going to call the Attorney General also and report them!

these people  called from simmons smith and associates and could not tell me over the phone who my original creditor was that i was supposedly in debt with. they said it would take 60-90 days for me to receive it through the mail.  she then said that she was the 4th company, and final resort, to make payments to or to provide proof to her that i did not owe. i told her she would not get a dime from me and that i would love to see her in court.   i am reporting a police report to my local office and i also am reporting them to the attorney generals office.  this is rediculoous.. i called verizon and had their number blocked also.

On 8/15/12 at 10:42 AM I received  a call from the number on my home phone. It went to voice mail and they did not leave a message. It was listed on my caller ID as NOT_AVAILABLE.

I have been receiving several calls from this phone number. The guy "James" left me a voicemail saying that I needed to call him immediately about this matter that has just landed on his desk. When I called the toll free number he gave me I spoke with a lady and asked her what this was in reference to. She told me that it was a payday loan that I had taken out for mypaydaynow.com and that I owed $450 but they would be willing to settle for $300. I asked her to connect me to "James" but she said he was on the other line. I have tried calling back twice and left voicemails but noone has returned my call. I did take out some payday loans but paid them ALL off in full so I do not know what these clowns want!!! If they try to call me back I will not answer and they can take me to court if they need to!!!!

who do i report these scammers to please give me the information so i can do so, they called my cell and left no message and then called my job and when i answered because i recognized the number that had just called my cell # and all it said was bye bye. I have no more pay day loans and i know it is a scammer, but i call their bluff by having them give me the account number that they have and it is a recent account that i just go in March and i have not done any loans on it and they say really, and of course they hang up.
