Man calls says my name, after a few second pause. Then proceeds say his name is "Alex".And continues to try to ask me questions.I tell him that no one is home, then he asks when "I" will be home, and what relation I am to myself. I asked him who he was and he anwered me saying "Alex". So I said I thought you were "Ricky". He responded  "she", knows me as "Ricky",and she will come to find out what want. This man had a very deep accent I am greatly concerned with how many phone calls have been made from this phone numeber. WHY can't something be done?

It really is amazing that the people are this sick. And it is even more sad that the authorities always seem to be a step behind whatever these con artist are always up to.

With all the global satellites and spying technology in the world, you'd think the authorities would be able to instantly trace these calls, and send police the locations right away.

I have received two missed calls from this number.  I am not sure if I should just not pick up and wait for them to get tired of calling, or if I should pick up and mess with their heads some.

The caller keeps calling!

There is a fraudulent scheme that involves fake collectors attempting to collect on non-existing debt. To protect yourself from such fraud, please note that if a collector representing themselves as a collector must provide the name of the company they are with and may not do the following:

Threaten bodily harm
Threaten criminal prosecution and jail time for uncollectable debts
Read out bank account statements, numbers
Read out SS# or date of birth

If you receive a call as described, you may have applied for loans, pay day advances, etc. and your information has been compromised. Please contact your financial institutions that you may have provided to obtain any loans to be aware of any fraudulent activities.

Also, please contact the three major credit bureaus and be aware of any lines of credit taken out that you are unaware.

This scheme is to collect money from unsuspecting individuals who do not owe a debt to the fraudulent collector.

I am getting calls from this number almost everyday, its a male voice with a thick accent stating I owe 8,000 in credit card debt, when I ask him where did he get my name and that incorrect information from he hangs up, but calls back, and when I answer he just hang up--PLEASE , WHY THE FBI OR SOMEONE CANNOT STOP THIS PERSON.

He was difficult to understand, got angry when I asked him to repeat the company info. The company name was four initials, with B in it. Asked if I was Mexican/Spanish, said maybe I wasn't American, because I couldn't understand his thick Indian accent. I said I was American, but that I couldn't understand his accent. He laughed and said he was Asian which was clearly not true. He tried to be flirty and say he loved my name. He called me by a unique nickname, not known to most people, and then rudely tried to insist I am $10K in debt, not accurate. I got weirded out when he knew my private name info. Clearly some kind of internet scam. Scary.

They have been calling me for the past week. I have not picked up. I called them from my cell but number says it's disconnected. Thanks for the info, I will not answer it now..........

I have been receiving calls as well from this number all week. A heavily accented man left a message last week but only said my name then I the same number has been on my caller ID every two hours since then

Got a call from 407-957-5956.  I found out it is from a call center in India.  They claimed the name of the company to be "Debt Service Center."  They wanted to know if I owed money on my credit cards.  They asked lots of questions including:  how much I owe (unsecured credit), if I am only making the minimum payments, if I am behind on payments, etc.  I was then "qualified" to be forwarded to another company called "Debt Remedy Solutions" located in Florida.  The parasite that answered the phone called himself "Kevin Gluckstal."  He claimed he could reduce my credit card bills by 45%-55%.  The phone number on the caller ID was 561-961-7200.  The number he gave me to call back was 888-961-7292.  This sounds like nothing more than a consumer credit counseling service but it could still be a scam.  Caveat emptor.

Call from 1-407-957-5956 came to my cell phone, also listed on the do not call registry - my air time was spent so I didn't answer

My grateful thanks to all the folks who posted here at 800notes.com/phone.aspx - Too bad the do-not-call list is such a joke - no point in reporting it THERE but I'm going to email my congress critters with a link to this web site and ask that they pull funding from the do-not- call registry and insist they become finacially idependent through the collection of fines.  Maybe THEN those free-loaders will have to EARN the money they currently get through featherbeddig.

This gentleman calls and claims his name is "Shawn" and then tells me that i owe $50,000 in credit card and medical bills!  HA!  We owe NOTHING to NO ONE!  I don't even own a credit card!  Poor guy, if he continues call, we will be going to the police.

by the way, the address that is listed for the caller id number is a piece of land in FL!

Middle Eastern man called my work number telling me I have debt when I don't even have a credit card then he asked me if I have any health insurance debt which I don't and I told him to call me at home and he became nasty about the situation because I was at work and couldn't talk

Indian or Middle Eastern sounding man called me at work and said I had credit debt and when I told him I don't have any credit cards he then told me I must have health insurance debt, which I don't have either.  I told him to call me at home.  He did and he left a message in a foreign language.  When you call the number on your caller ID, it is some disconnected number.  Sounds like a scam to me.

guy with an accent called the other day and said that I had over 8,000.00 in debt. (how the hell would HE know this even if i did) so I of course asked him how he knew this and of course no real answer.  so i listened till i got another call on my line, put him on hold and took the next call.  then i just hung up on him ... HE CALLED BACK THREE TIMES IN A ROW.  I just kept picking up and hanging up on him  lol ... so i just received one now at my job( it was at my job the other day too) same guy asking for me but I told him "she isn't here can i take a message?" and of course there wasn't one.  i wrote the number down and next time he calls ... i will just pick up and hang up til they get tired of this and stop calling altogether.

They keep calling and by the time i answer they hang up - or their computer does. Wonder how that works that they have a "disconnected number" as ID. This thing is a fraud. Phone company should reconnect this number, so they cannot hijack it...

I've received about 6 of these calls, but have never answered because I don't recognize the phone number.  Now I'm really glad that is  my usual response to a strange phone #.  Looked it up just like the rest and haven't tried calling.  I guess I'll just continue to not answer.
I'd really like to know how this guy is getting all these phone numbers and saying these folks are $8,000 to $10,000 in debt.
