A Microsoft store calling me from CA???  And Microsoft not even using a 800-number WTF ?  This has scam written all over it the store probably had its number cloned by our friends overseas .

Call constantly but never leave a message or answer. Assume it is a scam since the number is a Microsoft store in CA and calls me in MA. Many other reports. I picked up because of the fires and am waiting to hear from a friend. Now blocked.

Scam. I am on East Coast. They use CA number. Caller said: I am calling you from MicroSoft. We have detected a flaw in your software...give me immediate access to your computer so that I can correct the problem; are you at your computer now...go to your computer now to give me access & I will correct problem."
Same scammer that usually call from an 800 # “name unavailable”

I called my Microsoft Store and reported the call; they said that it was a scam call - because Microsoft will not call you with such situation - you would call them; and, if needed MS would you back - only if they said they would, in response to your issue.

I totally agree that this is probably a scam. Why would a Microsoft store be calling and not leaving a message? BEWARE!!

Says I have a problem on my computer. Are you there now? Yes, waiting to bust you.  Says to call back 408-844-3075.

Scam claiming to be Microsoft - "MICROSOFT" IS IN CALLER ID SO THESE HACKERS ARE SOPHISTICATED.   Been getting these calls for several years from exact same scammers.  5th call in 3 days.
Don't curse at them cause then they just ramp up the frequency of calls.

Same experience as above that Microsoft wanted to repair my corrupted software. I told the person calling I don't own a computer. He disconnected immediately. He didn't even say good-bye. How rude!

Same experience as others are having. Worst issue is that the Indian callers when challenged either ignore
you or else very aggressively and profanely argue.  I often give them the scammer not my phone number but the number of our State FBI or regional FBI or our police dept. or the Federal Trade Commission.

Me 2  Microsoft? and I live near their campus they would have used a local  number !

Just got the same call from the above number.. I never answered it.. It's the 1st time i got a call with them using this number.. My ID said it was Microsoft.. Usually it is a call that says Unknown Caller.. I put a block on them but they somehow get around it..

Me: Hello?
Caller:  My name is John Smith from Microsoft technical support. Are you near your computer? You have malicious viruses on your computer and I want to show you how to remove them (very Asian accent)
Me: Wait a minute. What do you say your name is?
Caller: John Smith
Me: You sure don't sound like a John Smith.
Caller: What do you mean.
Me: You sound more like a Gurpal or Prashant.
Caller: No. It's John Smith.
Me: You will never get access to my computer.
Caller: You need to remove the malicious....
Me: Do you like curry.....
***DISCONNECTED

DON'T TRY TO CALL AND SCAM ME!!

Caller ID showed "MICROSOFT"; caller hung up when answering machine came on; left no message, did not identify self nor purpose of call.  Reported to FTC, FCC and State Attorney General offices.  Such calls most definitely are SCAM!   DO NOT ANSWER!  DO NOT CALL THEM BACK!   DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION!

Today I received another one of these scam calls.  I do not answer them, and they didn't leave a message this time.  I've had them claim malicious attacks on my computer before.  I don't know why Microsoft customer service or their internal IT departments don't do something to stop these wicked scammers!

Have been calling every day for at least a month. They are now blocked. Used to answer and play with awhile. Said I had no electricity and they asked when it would be back on. Very annoying calls. Will go report again.

Never at home when they call and they don't leave a message.  I know it's a scam so when they call and I can talk to them I string them along for a while then I unload on them.  I had one guy so flustered he called me back 3 times and I kept dumping on him, it was great fun!
