Done it but still coming back. Got 2 calls today.
Asked them to remove me from their calling list and still the same....

Am advised the only legal recourse is to file "CEASE and DESIST" order, as these are underskirt the definition of illegal "cold calls".

I subscribed to Contra costa Times in Augst 2010.
These calls began immediately, from various numbers.

Five Minutes Later:
2011 March 10   09.39h -
ME: I'd like to ask that you please dont call this number again.
A: "Oh, i will do that, Sorry to bother you.Goodbye."

I wish I had asked more questions- about all the numbers they use, and how to disentangle from this evil machine.

Newspaper subscription dude -- trying to sell me San Ramon Valley Times.

if your getting them on your cell phone you can block those numbers through your account online

I picked up san  "Hello?" and a female on the other end says..."What a stupid thing to say." I say 'What?!" and then she hangs up.

I get phone call from this number all the time, no message left.  Totally annoying!!  I politely declined newspaper subscription before, and still get this...

I know a telemarketer and they informed me that they can call you as many times as they want UNLESS you specifically tell them to "take your name & number OFF their calling list and send you documentation showing you have been removed". If they call again, get their name, company name time & date you can take legal action if they continue to call you more than 3 times after you told them not to call you.

They said they're from the Mercury News but the SJMN does not confirm it so either they're a third party solicitator or a telemarketing firm purposely used by the SJ Mercury News to get business. The price is the same as if you buy it from the vending except they give you free delivery. Sad for me was, I rejected the offer one time but still got the news in the email....Never will I subscribe to them again if I want newspaper in the future.

This is bullsh!t.  I pay my cable company extra money a month to keep my number off the radar.  What a ripoff!
