This in fact Apples number. I received several calls from the Apple tech that was following up.

This number called me on an issue with my iphone with verizon service.  I had called the verizon help number and when I told "the voice" my problem, the call was immediately switched to the apple help line.  The techie called me back from this number so that we could work on my cell phone while still talking on my land line.

- I had an issue with an iTunes update that blew up my music database.. I called Apple on their main number and worked with a level 2 tech for a while, but we got to a point where I had to send some log files in for their engineers to help me fix the database.. A couple days later the level 2 tech I spoke with called me back from 408-556-4000.
- Anyway, this is one of the phone numbers Apples uses to call the customers back. :-)

I've been working on an issue with apple tech support for several days. This is one of the numbers they call from.

When you call apple you are calling a main number referred to as a ring down line that drops you into a computer phone bank where tech support answers. However, you are correct when you call apple you are given the techs name and extension, but if a call from Apple is made, it might be this number. To verify, have the tech tell you the purpose of the call to verify this is Apple, question wether this is legit is moot.

Oh ya, one last thing, I initiated the call from Apple so o know this is a good number.

Anyone complaining about this being a scam; there is potential to spoof the call I'd, do I defer back to my point, have the individual verify the purpose of the call 😊

That is NOT a legitimate Apple phone number and for all you people who claim you've been "working" with an Apple Rep? Surprise !!! You haven't.   It's a scam company.  Call 800-275-2273 and ask Apple yourself.

This is not Apple. I got a call saying that something is wrong with my computer and they say they tried to contact me already three times. None of this is true. I do not have an Apple computer. This is a scam.

This was a call back number from Apple Customer service. It's legit. They called me twice. Not very competent, however....

It is a common number that shows up on your Caller ID when an Apple tech rep calls you back for assistance with your machine.

As far as competency, most are, some not so much.

It actually is a legitimate Apple Care #. I got a call back from a tech I was working with on this # who is located in Maine. Unfortunately there isn't a "legit call" option below so I have to enter "Unknown".

That is Apple Support. Num is ligit.  I have a support case open and this number that return/follow-up calls come from.

The call I received was a legit call from Apple. They were calling about a closed ticket for an unresolved issue. He had access to all of the details. The call resulted in them mailing me an expensive replacement part. So I believe it really was Apple.
I was initially worried that I was a scammed after I gave him my CC info to put a hold for the cross shipping value in case I failed to return the bad part. Something about the unexpected call felt off in my gut.
But in the end everything lined up right. I got the confirmation email from Apple that included details I had not provided on the call. The hold on the CC was from Apple and I did get the replacement.
It still "felt" scammy 😉

It is Apple customer care...I'm dealing with a problem on my Mac, and this is one of the many numbers they call back on.

It's Apple customer care...so I don't know what you're talking about, and quite frankly, either does anyone else.

Or it's a spoofed number.  You are responding to a 3 year old post.  BTW, if you knew it was legit, why did you need to look up the number?

Harassment at its best! Calling all the time , hanging up when answered . They will be reported to FTC for electronic communications harassment !
