Recorded creepy male voice saying that my Google listing is in jeopardy. I hung up. I get these calls from different numbers every day, sometimes several times a day. Last week I pressed "1" and spoke (nicely) to the agent on the phone and they pretended that it was odd that I got the call, as my Google listing was already verified. I asked why my listing would be flagged on their system if it was actually fine. He clearly was not prepared with a proper response and just said that something went wrong with their system. Since he hadn't hung up as soon as I asked him something "off-script", I asked why I get these calls every day and they never remove my number from their call list. I persisted until he assured me that he would make sure that my number would be removed from the list. That was last week, and yet here I am responding to yet another number about the same phishing scam. They are actually just trying to verify that your phone number is an active number which they can then add to their list which they sell to the next phishermen.

Called our office at 1:59 pm pacific time and all it was dead air then hung up.

Telephone providers are not doing enough to stop these spam/spoof calls.

Nobody there when I answered our business line.  I think they've called us before.

We have 5 different phone numbers coming into one phone for the 5 businesses.  I just received 2 calls in a row on 2 different lines. After I answer the phone, there is silence then the caller hangs up. I have had calls from this number before (and many others) and it was the same - silence then hang up.  I understand that some people do this to search for live lines.

(408) 582-7978 calls my business everyday  and leaves a partial message about removing my business google listing.  There has been days it has called twice.  I never answer it but it is annoying and harassment...

Just received yet another of these annoying calls from the creepy recorded male voice regarding a supposed Google listing. This is despite having indicated numerous times that I wish to be removed from their call list, and having been listed on an official Canadian "Do Not Call List" . I returned the call and spoke with some woman, to whom I have made clear that any further harassment will result in a formal complaint being lodged with the CRTC (the Canadian equivalent of the FCC). She has assured me that my number will be put on a do not  call list, but this remains to be seen. Is there no way to put an end to these parasites?

I have been getting numerous calls from this number for the last 3 weeks, no one there, and a hang up after about 10 seconds.  We are a business and this is very annoying and disruptive

Received 4 calls from this # at my business today. Didn’t answer and no message was ever left

Calls from this number constantly.  They don't respond when the phone is answered.  They often catch me at lunch with a full mouth.  ;o)

Even if it is not a robocall but a live person claiming be from Google - they are not and it's still a scam. Google does not call - ever - to verify listings.

I took your advice thank you. The link you provided did not work but when I searched the company they have a Better Business Bureau listing so I filed a complaint. There are other complaints listed and Modern Spotlight is responding to those complaints by saying that WE the receivers of the phone calls are the ones being aggressive once they infirm us it will cost $599 to have your Google listing verified. We are in Canada. Why would we pay someone in Florida $599 USD to "verify our listing". Best part is Modern Spotlight doesn't even have their own Google listing. Losers!
