These people have been harassing me for over a year.  They called my work today and the thing that scared me the most is that they have my social security number!!  I advised them that I knew this was a scam and have proved over and over that I DID NOT take out a loan from anyone.  He advised that he was going to file some sort of suit in California.  I said, do what you think you need to do but do not call me ever on my work phone.  They laughed at me and hung up.  Does anyone know how I can get this to finally stop.  If they didn't have my ssn then I wouldn't even worry about it, but this has me concerned.

They had my social security number as well and gave me the same scenario that I took out a loan and they were going to file a suit against me in the state of Florida. They even told me they would be contacting my lawyer..and i dont even have a lawyer. I have searched high and low for ways to report these people and I cant find anything. You can file a claim with the Attorney General but in their disclosure on the website it states they cannot give legal advice nor provide legal accusations against someone. After calling my local police department and filing a report they just told me to watch my credit report for transactions that were not mine. I even have my bank accounts protected i'm afraid if they have my SS # that they can hack into anyones bank account.

I got the same call and yelled at him at the top of my lungs saying that I'm getting Homeland Security involved and the FBI...I yelled at his [***] and told him bring it on...and I yelled at him and called him a f**kin terrorist and he hung up......I'm going to call that number like crazy and keep harrassing him...

Just bring the number to your police department and tell them whats going on. Tell them you want to speak to a FBI agent...I'm going to do the same thing.

the fool called my job and told a coworker it was an emergency that they needed to talk to me about concerning an investigation so i called them back and told him not to call my job again and i know the law so he can't scare me i am reporting them to ftc

I am getting the same phone calls from different phone numbers saying they are a criminal investigator and want to speak to my boss to tell them what kind of person I am. Cause I owe them money and I'm going to jail and will lose my job. I have been hararssed since Oct. and then they have hit my back account with a account from clickwit.

Have received SEVEN calls today from these people (6 of which came in a THREE MINUTE time frame).  

Given the names John Anderson and David Watson, supposedly with the "Dept. of Law & Investigations".  SUPPOSEDLY a law firm, in Galveston TX.  I've also received a call from the same people for the same thing, based in Seattle WA.

It is most DEFINITELY a scam.  Do not give these people information, but try to get info from them, then report them to your state attorney general's office.  

When I informed "David Watson" that I was notifying the state AG, he hung up on me.

Also contact your state attorney general.  That's what my local PD told me to do.

"David Watson" was one of the names I got, too.

Same scenario--Dept of Law and Investigations, a lawsuit was filed against me.  I could barely understand "John Anderson" and "David Watson" was only a bit better.

Local police also informed me it's a scam, advised I contact the state AG.  I have filed a FTC complaint, and will file one with the AG soon.  

I've been trying to get what information from them that I can.

Also, when I informed "David" that I was calling the AG, he hung up on me.

As an interesting side note, my caller ID picked up their number in two formats: as 409 356 6912
and as +40 93566912.  This has never happened before.

You know... I'd LOVE for them to talk to my attorney.  I'm debating looking into it if they call back.  I suspect it would be the last I heard.

I received a call from a person who called himself Larry.  He said that he was from the dept of law and investigation. The person called me on my cell phone and at mt job. I told him that I knew that this number had been reported as a fradgulent number solicting money from poor unsuspecting people. he then began to "tell me off"! lol He told me that I was gonna get fired from my job because I'm a bad person.

Threatening calls to say I would be locked up if I did not pay back a loan I supposedly took out in 2010 or 2011. They can not give me an exact date or a toll free number or even give me an address to mail money to just a fax number to fax a promissory note to pay 988.00 on a supposed 300.00 loan.

they are calling us now with a few diffrent numbers they got more info on us then we like. he told use he was from 3 diffrent pay day loan companies and we owe 300 on a pay day loan and know is 400 and somthing. if we pay 200 it will go away so i cussed him out today telling him that they are juse fing our life up worse then it already is. they have your address and at least your last 4 or your ssn, and what bank you use and of course the phone number and email address. i think they may not call again after i started to cuss him out today on the phone i also called all the payday loan companies and also called ther corperat offices. they said they are a scam to me.

My girlfriend received a call of this nature at her office. The person told her there was a lawsuit and the police will be called. She panicked and gave her credit card for an outstanding bill she didn't realize she had. Then she found out it was identity theft. They took her credit card number and maxed it out. She caught it in time to place a hold on her bank accounts and anything linked to her social security number, address, or drivers license. The person calling uses a scare tactic to get your credit card number. IT'S A SCAM!

I have been receiving calls from a man with  a foreign accent for over a year.  He calls from many different numbers claiming to be different people from police to working for the government.  He has threaten me with law suits wage garnishments etc.  He will stop calling for a month or two then start again.  Last call was that he was a police officer.  And his number trace to different stated.

We are having the same issues here.  they are now calling and yelling and cursing us out. I told them I was calling the states attorney and filing police and I got an FU and they haven't called back yet today.  They will probably stop for a while and then start back up, that is what they have been doing. I've since put a block on my phone for that number.  If it comes down to it, I'll change my number.  All calls from the same number Galvston, TX.  What a pain in the ass! When this started months ago, yes I said months now! He was a law office, now a debt collector.

these people are fake

This foreigner (the same one) calls my work number everyday. Do they honestly think we feel threatened by their calls? The way I look at it is...if they really had something of a legal nature, they'd be sending the Sheriff to my place of work with paperwork..don't ya think? It's annoying but something you can definitely ignore.

Scammer. Speaks with a foreign accent. I just purchased this phone. Perhaps, the previoius number owner wa a victim of scams.  He also calls from several other numbers.
