- CindyI received a call yesterday on my private cell phone and then they called me on my work number. They also stated that it was the county clerk, they were going to sue me now that I was found, contacting my employer etc. THIS IS A SCAM!! I called the county clerk office and reported this to them They said all there numbers are 412-350 not 346
- Caller: Allegiance Telecom Debt collector
- Lose My Number| 1 replyReceived a voice message from 412-346-1399. I checked the message and it was a pre-recorded message stating that they were calling from the county clerk office and I had 2 suits that were filed against me and even gave a case # of 234254. The voice mail said that they would locate me at my home address and my employer. So I called the number back and it was a guy that answered Pre-Charge Authorization and then immediately put me on hold. When he returned he said that I had an outstanding balance from a loan from 2008. I have taken out loans before but only just recently and not in 2008. He argued with me and stated things that were allegedly on my credit report. I told him to take whatever action he needed to and basically to go to hell. After this conversation I got online to investigate the number and I came across this site and am even reporting this number myself.. These people should not be allowed to continue on with this!!!!

- Susan| 2 repliesGot a harassing voicemail saying to call. I called and spoke with Mike Green. Stated I owed a payday loan from 2008 to Compass Capital LLC. Threatened to find me at my work and home. I have not lived there for 2 years and live in another state. Said they will pull my credit to get updated information. Then said that's the reason collection company couldn't find me. I just moved, so 5 years at the same address they have and couldn't find me? Such scammers. I told him to come and find me. More threats and advised was being recorded and reported for harassment and falsifying for a government agency. he quickly hung up. Sheriff is on the way and this company is being reported!
- Caller: Pre-trial Processing
- BrianSaid I Had a default Pay-Day loan from 2010 with a company called WTJ Financial and that I was facing wage garnishment, or I could pay a lesser amount of $843.00 if I settled the debt today. SCAM I told him to sent me a notice of who, what and why. he said he would inform the financial company of my request.

- Leigh WolferJust returned the call to 412/346-1399 and was told I owe on a pay day loan from 2008. Definitely a scam, I would never take out a pay day loan even on my worst day...they had old personal information and left the message on a phone number of a neighbor that is not even mine. Very weird and suspect.

- M412-346-1399 left an automated messages at co-workers voicemail stating there is a legal complaint filed against me. It got to my supervisor & called but will not give her any information. I called and spoke to Travis McCoy from Georgia indicating that there company name is Free First Trial Services. There is a pending lawsuit on me and I supposed to make payment agreement with them before the file a lawsuit with me. I never herd of the loan he indicated then he recited that is kind of scary but really suspicious in the way he want me to give in to a pay them. I don't trust this people and not giving any of my credit cards to pay something I don't owe. Don't trust this scam caller. Go to trial if there is really a real lawsuit.

- Catalso just received this voicemail with all of the above details
I hope someone answers and gives them a piece of their mind. - DavidI also received a call from this company. I have taken out payday loans in the past and I was suspect of the information that he was giving me. The person I spoke with was Michael Greenspan. I was told I owe for a Pay Day Loan from 2009. I checked my bank statements and have confirmed that I paid all of my loans back in a timely manner. I called them back to get more information and they assured me that I would get a call back from Michael and he has not called me back. I am going to call them back tomorrow and I am going to harass them like they are doing to so many. I will report any information I am able to get from them here on this forum. Looks like they were busy today. Also just a note. When a collection company of any kind calls you they are required by law to inform you that the call is the attempt to collect a debt, and any information received during the call will be used for that purpose. The phone number is a Voip phone these people are probably not even in Pa.

- AnitaGot a call and person left a message. Said that they were a representative from the county clerk's office and that my husband had 2 judgments against him. He had to call their legal dept at 413-346-1399 so that the matter could be handled out of the court system immediately. He had limited time and something about putting a lien against him through his employer.
I have reported this to the FTC.- Caller: None Given
- BrianI received this same call on my cell phone and they left an automated voice mail telling me that I had a lawsuit pending and they were going to locate me. they also told me if they found me first that any negotiations would be off the table which is the exact opposite of the way the court system works. I know this for a fact since I just went to court to sue someone with my wife that owes her.
- MoniqueI got a call today from these people...this is the 3rd type of call I've received in the past 2 months so I was prepared. It's completely fake. I've been threatened 3 times now with being served and nothing has happened.I've reported each one to the ftc, and I've called them all out on it, with answers of "you do what you have to do". My spiteful side would love to call them 5 times a day and harrass them but who has the time! It's total bs.

- marie| 2 repliesJust experienced the same thing saying I recieved a call from mike greenspan saying I owe money for a loan in2008 which never received a loan. Cotacted the ftc
- Alfalfa replies to marie| 1 replyHow can I verify whether or not a debt collector is legitimate?
Here are a few warning signs that could signal a debt collection scam:
The debt collector threatens you. Legitimate debt collectors probably won't claim that they'll have you arrested or claim that they or their employees are law enforcement officers.
The debt collector refuses to give you information about your debt or is trying to collect a debt you do not recognize. You have certain rights to ask a debt collector to verify the debt. You can use this sample letter to request this information. Ask for an explanation in writing before you pay.
The debt collector refuses to give you a mailing address or phone number.
The debt collector asks you for sensitive personal financial information. You should never provide anyone with your personal financial information unless you are sure they're legitimate.
If you think that a caller may be a fake debt collector:
Ask the caller for his or her name, company, street address, telephone number, and professional license number. Many states require debt collectors to be licensed. Check the information the caller provides you with your state officials, or the state in which the debt collector holds a license. If the caller refuses or is unable to provide you with information about his company, or if you can’t verify the information he provides, do not give money to the caller or company.
Tell the caller that you refuse to discuss any debt until you get a written "validation notice." This notice must include:
The amount of the debt
The name of the creditor you owe
A description of certain rights under the federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act
If a caller refuses to give you all of this information, consider requesting this information in writing or seeking assistance before paying the debt to make sure the debt, and the company, are valid.
Tip: You can consider sending the collector a letter requesting the information by using one of the CFPB's sample letters. You can also submit a complaint to the CFPB or you can contact your state Attorney General’s office.
Do not give the caller personal financial or other sensitive information. Never give out or confirm personal financial or other sensitive information like your bank account, credit card, or Social Security number unless you know the company or person you are talking with is a real debt collector. Scam artists, like fake debt collectors, can use your information to commit identity theft such as:
Charging your existing credit cards
Opening new credit card or checking accounts
Writing fraudulent checks
Taking out loans in your name
Contact your creditor. If the debt is legitimate – but you think the collector may not be – contact your creditor about the calls. Share the information you have about the suspicious calls and find out who, if anyone, the creditor has authorized to collect the debt.
Report the call. Submit a complaint with the CFPB or get in touch with your state Attorney General's office with information about suspicious callers.
Stop speaking with the caller. If nothing else works and you believe the calls are fraudulent, send a letter demanding that the caller stop contacting you, and keep a copy for your files.
Tip: You can use this sample letter to write a letter demanding the debt collector stop contacting you. By law, real debt collectors must stop calling you if you ask them to in writing.
Tip: If you're having trouble with debt collection, you can submit a complaint with the CFPB online or by calling (855) 411-CFPB (2372).
