Obvious fraud caller claiming to represent the IRS.

Left message. Claimed to be IRS...

Message left by "Officer Julie Smith" with the IRS asking me to call the number 415-506-2397.  Voice sounded digitally generated.  At the end of the message, she told me to "take care."  What "official" caller says that?!?  Caller ID on phone said the call was coming from Novato, CA.

I got a Message left by "Officer Julie Smith" with the IRS saying, "IT was a time sensitive issue" and asked me to call her back at the number 415-506-2397.  It was a Recored voice over. MY phone said it was coming from the San Francisco Bay Area. Im guessing by reading the other comments that this is not the IRS and is fraud. I did end up call someone from the IRS and they said there shouldn't be any reason why someone would being calling me. I'll just wait to see if they call again.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

Lol i just called back and a Indian sounded man answered and he told me to f off when I told him I turned their little fraud into or government!  Lol now they won't answer call them a couple times and screw them up a little! Lol

We received the recorded phone call from Julie Smith also, twice within 4 hours.  The message was the same as for JM and MB above.  I reported it to the FTC as recommended on the IRS website regarding fraudulent phone calls.

After hearing the message on my answering machine I called the number back and I got an Indian woman, I asked her if she was with THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE...she said YES.. She said she needed to speak to my husband about his income taxes.... I told her he was working and since I was the one who paid the bills I wanted to know what it was about.... she was quite rude and wound up hanging up on me after saying my husband better call them! I work for my local government and am pretty sure they do not have office hours at 8 30 am on a Saturday :)

They also had sent me something as certified mail which I did not pick up. They referenced this when they called me which made me think it was legitimate. I am glad I googled this # to now know this is 100% fraud!!!!

Recorded msg twice from Officer Julie Smith with the IRS, time sensitive, requesting a return call from me or my "attorney of record."  Recd calls on Sat., October 25.

I got a call, too.
And here is what you do guys... All of you call them back when u r free  and talk to them for as long as you want and eat their head off. if you cant do that then give them missed call for no reason. if they bother you then you should bother them back.

It is big SCAM and the scammers are trying to represent IRS. Just ignore, they will say things like "We have sent you multiple letters", "Sheriff will be at your home today", "You need to be online on phone till you pay this amount" etc etc

I have been getting calls from the same# from the SF/North Bay Area. No message, though.

I received 2 of these calls today both with the same computer generated female voice and script.  I knew it was bogus, but still needed to look it up online to be sure. I'm not going to waste my time on it.

I got the call from same no (415)506-2397 and also (626)445-9137  two days in raw and left me the massage that they call from irs

I received the same exact call and I ignored it because I knew it was fraud.  The IRS will contact you via postal mail.

call from 415 506 2397, stating same info about sheriff and arrest as mentioned above, 10 min ago.  they know name and address, the guy did not state ssn so probably they dont know that.  

And now they are calling cell phone numbers too.
