Yes we got a call this  morning at 7:00.  When i called to have them take me off their list the Indian guy told me i was talking to the IRS and to shut my mouth. I submitted a complaint to the National Do Not Call Registry.  Let's see if there will be some action.

I also got a call this morning with Indian accent to tell me to call 415-506-2511 for my income tax problem. I called my friend working in IRS about this. He said IRS always mails the letter and never makes calls. He said this must be a scam. I googled this phone number and confirmed it's a scam.

I received a message from a guy called David Jones - either a North Indian or Pakistani accent who told us to call a guy called Kevin Peterson. When I called Kevin on 415-506-2511, he said that he is from Investigation bureau of IRS and that because of discrepancy in tax from years 2009,10 and 11 mu accounts will be frozen for 5 yrs and the drivers license etc will be cancelled. I am going to report this fraud to IRS and would love to get this person and his team be unceremoniously deported from the country or better still put in jail and freeze his [***] for 5 yrs.

Same thing happened here on 2/19 morning at 6:15 AM.  A guy with Indian accent called me mentioned that I have tax issue and let me call  his boss Kevin Peterson @ 415-506-2511.  I asked where he made call from he replied "Washington" .  I also asked why I get call instead a mail he said the letter was lost somehow.  I then checked caller ID of this conversation and found that this is exact same number hr let me to call.  It came from  Novato CA..  It rather strange so I checked Google and found this discussion.

The person calling probably has never even stepped foot inside the United States.  As I said before, this is a magicJack number.  There is probably a single device that is assigned this number, and it can be plugged into the Internet to make untraceable calls to the US using that number from anywhere in the world where there is Internet service.

Why Google?  Did they sell him the magicJack?

I received a call this morning (Feb 19) around 10:00 am Central. I didn't recognize the number, so let it go to voicemail. The person leaving the message had a very heavy Indian accent, said he was calling from the Internal Revenue Service, said his name was Joseph Daniel, and that either I or my attorney needed to call him back immediately as this number or there would be legal "allegations" (his words). He said they have found a delinquency in my taxes (not true.) I did try to call the number back because I wanted to see what they would say but got no answer. I am on the Do Not Call registry so I reported the number there, but would love to know if there is more that can be done to stop these people from harassing and scaring others.

Your description fits me perfectly well! Only it happens on 2/19/14 at 9:44am EST, when it was 6:44 california time. I don't pick up call from out of state easily. I couldn't understand what she said.  I believe IRS would have sent me a letter first before they call.

I also received a voicemail this morning (Feb 19, around 10am).  The message was left by a women with heavy accent (likely Indian) and claiming she was calling from the IRS and threatening legal action.  There was no prior written IRS communication regarding this, and my google search revealed that many other people received similar calls and this is obviously a scam.

I got three phone call's this morning around 7:30 from the same number (1-860-921-8358), didnt reconize the number so I let the machine get it. The caller left no message on the first two call's. The third time it wrang I answered and a man with a middle eastern accent claiming to be with the IRS told me I had some issues with my taxes. He told me I needed to call Kevin Pederson at 1-415-506-2511. When I called the number a man asked me for my name and then hung up on me. I tried to call back a few times and when I finally got a hold of someone I asked them for their information the man told me to ask my neighbor, my neighbor would know who he was.

We also received this call. They first left a message Feb 19, 2014 around 3:30PM. The man had a HEAVY south-Indian accent, to the point where we couldn't even understand what he was saying ... only thing we could understand was "IRS." He called back the next day around 7:30AM, and directed us to call 415-506-2511.

After seeing these posts, another guy or perhaps the same guy, again with a really heavy accent directed us to call 415-506-2511.

After reading y'all's posts, we're completely ignoring it.

And just thinking about it, if one were to owe back taxes, how could it be exactly $8000.00. I believe my friend who was audited for real, received a letter, not a phone call. And if the IRS were to really hire someone like this to communicate such important messages, America's really in trouble!

    Thanks everyone!

Received phone call from an asian speaking woman saying that there was a discrepancy concerning our taxes.   She left a message stating that legal action would be taken.  She said it was time sensitive and would be litigation.  She claimed to be from the IRS....

Yes. My Caller ID records show Feb. 21, 2014 from 415-506-2511 (OIUT-OF-AREA). A male with Asian accent claimed himself an IRS representative and said my 2012 tax return had a miscalculation. He ask me to call back 415-506-2511 (same number!) for KEVIN PETERSON.  I of course did not. I called IRS and obtained an 800 number to report the scam, but it was not helpful.

I got a message left on my answering machine specifically asking for me to return the call at 415-506-2511.  The caller has a thick Indian accent that I can hardly understand.  He claimed he is from IRS and demaneded me to call right away to avoid allegations ........My husband and I had to listen to the message at least 5 more times to figure out what he was trying to say.
