I went ahead and booked a carpet cleaning appointment for them to go to a vacant house. I waited up the street and watched them park accross the street. It was a man in his early 30's driving a small older model red truck which was UNMARKED. He came out and knocked on the door a few times. I was able to get a license plate number. That license plate number is 3P0G927 (California Plate).

After waiting in front of that house for several minutes I received a call on my cell phone. The number they called me with was 818-534-6825. They said that the carpet cleaner is waiting in front of your house and I told them that they have the wrong number.

I tried doing a reverse lookup on that number online at whitepages.com and all I can find out at the moment is that the number registered in Northridge, CA. Unfortunately my cell phone number was not on the Do-Not-Call list so I cant report them myself but hopefully someone out there can use this information to report them. Email me at miket818@yahoo.com if I can be of assistance.

Well, I got a call from Dave's Carpet (again) and found this web site. I called the number 888.229.9795 which I found on this site and got a "hello" and asked that I be removed. I was hung up on. I redialed and was told that the number was 650.229.9795 and I was mistaken that I had dialed and 888 number. I receive two or three calls per month. I have no carpets to clean since my floors are all hard wood or marble but if I get another call, I will schedule a cleaning. By the way, the 415.555.1000 number has been discontinued. Guess a lot of people visited this site.

Got sick of the calls so here is what I do. If we all did it, these guys maybe would quit. Set up an appointment with them and when they arrive, usually without any cleaning supplies, tell them there must be some mistake, and send them packing. Lets all start wasting their time for a change.

Don't fill out any paper work these guys wave at you. It has nothing to do with cleaning your carpets. If you speak russian that will help. When they call each other and they don't think you will understand, one can pick up some very usefull information, like names and the fact that they operate out of Oakland.

Here's how you solve the problem. Book the appointment for a fictitious address on your block ("I live at 4050 1/2 Elm St. It's in the back.") Wait and see what company shows up and then bombard them for using a spammy telemarketers. Use Yelp, craigslist, etc. to tell potential customers how the company is using shady tactics to drum up business. Eventually they'll learn that shady marketing has its negative side.

The calls I get are from 510-699=6152 (from Oakland, Calif,)  But I am guessing it is the same
scammers.  The automated call starts off..."Hi. This is Dianne.  Do you need your carpet to be
    professionally cleaned?"
I just discovered (via the internet) that this same company has already been fined $10,000 for
violating the DNC list in Idaho,  I guess some people never learn!

Airhorns don't work, the phone will clip the loud volume.  It will still be irritating, though.

You guys know that the "555" prefix is a fake, right?  That's why movies always have "555-something" numbers-- the phone company doesn't assign numbers with the 555 prefix for this exact reason.

When I was a kid back in the 80's I tried calling one of the 555 numbers I heard on TV and directory assistance answered.
