I've gotten this call three times and I live in Calgary! I picked it up the second time just to find out and it was the recording about how my auto insurance is about to expire. I don't even own a car!

Listen up people ...I heard that cell phone companies are giving our phone numbers to marketing business. In this way both of them make money in deep recession.

Yes I too have been getting this phone number.  Glad I was intelligent to look it up online though and see your emails.  Appreciate it.  I am with Telus and did as was recommended - put the number in your cell phone and list it under group Unwanted Calls - place ringer to NO RING for Group and ta-da, don't have to worry about number ringing again.  Yippee!  Thanks again for the advice.

I also added the other number with 4848 at the end.  Perfect!  Here is another number that calls as well.

They are persistent, aren't they?  Yikes.

when i got this call i was at work, my colleague also got the same call the same day. i thought the call sounded pretty fake since i don't even own a car. neither does my colleague. my advice just dont answer your phone if this number comes up!

I started getting these weird 416-000-xxxx calls within one week of getting my new Rogers cell phone (was previously with Bell).  I never got these calls on my Bell cell.  I have received 416-000-5597 and 416-000-4963.  Luckily, compared to many of the other posters here, I have only received one call from each of the two numbers.  And I've not answered either call nor do they leave messages.  Even though I'm not being harassed (yet)like many of you, I still hate it.

Called, I NEVER answer these anymore since I've gotten them so many times. I do not have a learner's permit, a license, or a car. The sooner this gets solved, the better.

The number keeps changing. This one ends in 1963.

Glad to know I'm not the only one, I've gotten a couple calls from the numbers
    416 000 3571,
416 000 7954, and a whole bunch of area codes from the States - for the record I'm in the Halton region. I really hope someone comes up with a solution, 'cause this is just ridiculous.
