Just got another call about my car warranty about to expire.  Same message as others, but from a different number.  How do they get our cell numbers?  Very frustrating!

Same thing as everyone else.   When I answered the call on my Rogers Cell, there was dead air at the other end.  I just hung up.  I also get car warranty expiration calls @ home and I have a Bell line there.

Same here - blank empty message - i think the call machine has busted, likely from overuse! It seems weird that Rogers/Bell/telus can't stop these calls. You would think some Rogers executives would have got the calls by now, which is a first step to stopping them. Unless of course it is the executive's son - in - law's company that is doing the calling!

Keep getting calls from 416-000 on my Rogers Blackberry.  My husband has been getting the same calls on his cell phone as well.  I have been with Rogers for over 3 years and this has just started happening.  Does anyone know how this can be stopped?  It's just annoying that some company has my cell #.

I just got the same call on my Bell Blackberry.  It went to voice mail and they didn't leave a message.   They've somehow got a phone list from someone, who knows maybe Bell sold it to them.  The only people who have my cell phone number are family members.

Been getting these calls the last few months, have had the same cell for 3 years with Virgin mobile, never had this issue before. I did not answer this one, but have in the past. I wonder if you can block incoming numbers to your cell. Maybe the website will have something. I do not have my number on Facebook or anything else.

i've gotten calls from many 1-416-000-xxxx numbers, it's a computer auto dialer, will call 5 people at once, and hang up on 4 of them,to stop all computer autodialers, google "sit tones", there are eight of them, they are system information tones that tell computers different things, one of them says that you number is unreachable, and if their computer hears it, their computer will label your number as unreachable, and won't call you back for a month, so, take those three beeps, and put them at the start of your answering machine message, then 99% of these calls will stop, leaving only people that call you, then you answer your phone with something like this "YOU HAVE REACHED A SECURE LINE FROM HOMELAND SECURITY, PLEASE IDENTIFY YOURSELF!!!", when they tell you who they are, let them know that they need to take your number off their list, or the next call will result in having to deal with the united states government. hopefull this will end all of your calls....

I just got a new phone/number from Virgin yesterday. So seeing as I haven't given it to anyone except friends/family, they can't be getting the number from facebook/any other website.
