My credit score is fine. I worked for GMAC as a collector. Yes we verified addresses and phone numbers, but never asked for a social unless the customer called in not knowing their account number. If YOU knew FDCPA law it is unlawful to demand information without verifying debt or customer!!!!

I got a call from a number 14233540175. The left a vm to give them a call back because it's an important business matter. Then they left a 18772380807 toll free number, but when I call both numbers no picks up, is this real or a scam? Can anyone tell me? This has happen to me before about 2 years ago and It's really getting on my nerves. And the fact that no one answers and it keeps ringing is really annoying.

received voicemail to call this number due to an important business matter. when i returned the call the lady would not tell me why she called unless i verified certain personal information to her. i refused to give any details and repeated to ask why she was calling. the only answer i received was that they would call back later if i was not comfortable giving them information.

This number called me left message for me to call back. When I called back they did not have my account but wanted personal info.

I will not give my address or any personal information and they get mad and hang up. Not sure why they keep calling.

This is a debt collector. alot of medical facilities use them for un -paid bills. If you know you owe a medical facility for such things as CT scans, MRI then u should just up and pay it. And NO!! I don't work for them... They are just doing their job. They are a legitimate company. It's much easier to set up a payment plan than it is to get harassed for something u may owe. If it's not your debt then politely tell them. If you start your conversation defensively. Then guess how it's going to end.....as unresolved as your debt.

Debt collectors have a proven track record of harassing innocent people by calling outdated numbers. I know this is true because I have gone through it. Telling them that they have the wrong number RARELY works

I guess you are just another ignorant, uneducated company shill.  But you did provide a service here today.  You see this criminal enterprise would have gone unnoticed, but thanks to you we were able to bring it up on the radar.  We were able to see that it has a D- rating with the BBB.  We were able to find it's true business name and to post that information along with the fact that it seems to be getting sued a few times for violating the law.  All this is now out in the open because of you, so for once in your miserable life you have done one good thing.

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt.  It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.

I don't think it was safe to assume what claims Northfork had or lacked two years prior. While TCPA claims do tend to arise from non-debtors with mobile phones, the continued pestering of the wrong person can also violate the FDCPA, clearly so when the called party has made clear that the debt collector has reached a dead end in its supposed skip tracing.

I missed a call on my cell. Called them back. A very persistent and rather rude woman with a slight (I am guessing) Caribbean accent says she has a "real problem there with something" and needs to confirm my address before she can continue.
I asked her specifically again what CBC stood for and she refused, just stated CBC. I said that I would rather them mail me something which I said that I would reply to if it was indeed valid.
She repeated that she needed the info. I did not provide it. Hung up and blocked that number. To my knowledge they have not tried the house phone which seems logical. THIS IS A SCAM!!!!
