FRAUD!!!!!!

THEY CALLED TRYING TO GIVE ME A GRANT AND ASKED FOR MY CHECKING ACCOUNT INFO WHEN I STARTED TO ASK QUESTION THEY HUNG UP. THEY CALLED ME LIKE 20 TIMES DILY UNTIL I FIALLY AWNSERED THE CALL... WATCH OUT BE CAREFUL....

We were hoping to get a grant for me to go back to school... BJ has many family members who got LEGIT grants, and paid an initial fee and ended up buying homes and investing in smaill businesses, etc...... so we thought it was legit. it was the answer to all our prayers....
BJ spoke with a woman named Roxanne Alexandria (Employee ID #154), and someone named Catherine Miller (in retrospect, he admits that they both sounded the same)... He was given a confirmation (recording) number... We were approved for $4000! We would have a check in our hands 72 hours after our payment... He was given a number to reach them at (1-866-569-2573, I'll have to try it out tomorrow) We were supposed to get a packet in the mail about the details... guess what, WE NEVER DID.
He gave his account number and approved them taking out the $359 fee on his payday.

When we bagan getting incesssant phone calls from (425)963-7342 (all hang ups) and I attempted a reverse phone look-up on Google to find the culprit, I found this site. We were 10 days away from losing a PRECIOUS $359.... I was going to use my rent money to pay the fee, and the grant money to pay the rent. Thank GOD for this site! Otherwise I never would have known.

At any rate, we just stopped payment on the approval and we're changing our account number tomorrow.

I immedatetely called my mom, a lawyer. She said REPORT THEM TO YOUR STATE ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE, Consumer Complaints Division
(In California, The number for the Office of Consumer Affairs is 1-800-952-5210 and the AG's number is 916-324-5437)

Only if enough people report this to their state attorney general's office, can law enforcement put together a good enough case to track these guys down and get them!!!!!
PLEASE, spare those who have yet to be scammed!
I'm calling my state attorney general tomorrow!

They continuously call me and will not say anything.  The calls are back-to-back every 15 minutes from 8:00am to 9:00pm.

We have been receiving numerous calls from that number also.  I just went on to my phone company and blocked the calls from coming to my house.  No one would ever say anything while we said hello several times.  I called the number back and it just said to leave a message.

I got a call from them - I spoke with John Francis #177 - he told me they were out of Philadelphia, PA - HE said that I was qualified for a bank grant from the federal government.  They told me they needed my bank information and that they would not take the payment out til August 3o and then in 72 hours I would have the packet and I should have my 4500.00 by Sept 3 at the latest.  I am going to see what I can do about this.  I don't know how they got my cell phone number.  They had called me so many times before I finally answered.

I just got a call from this # again. I was leary as it has been showing up on my caller id daily so I didnt answer it. I came online to look up the # to see where it was from, I'm glad now that I didn't answer it. My daughter is checking out student loans online and my son filling out credit applications. I'm assuming this # received our phone information (Heaven forbid if they got more than that!) and are calling. We've also been receiving alot from Seattle Washington. I'll have to look that one up next, I'm sure it's the same type of scams. sigh..

The lady in the phone said they were from Amrican finiancing and my expenditure was more than my income. they said they wanted to give me a grant in the amount of 4005 dollars if i gave them my checking account number.

I recieved a call from this number and the caller ID said "Unknown".  I  then received another call from # 515-364-2750, Caller ID said "Corwith".  They were asking for my 10 yr old daughter.  How do you get them to stop?

you should change your account number IMMADIATELY.

these people keep calling my cell phone but nobody ever says anything when you answer....very annoying

Wow, I have just been scammed.  Wtf am I to do? I got a call from 425-963-7342 and they have my account number and everything. I pried for all the information I could get and the reason I was getting this.  They had good answers and it seemed legit.  I still felt very uneasy to go through with it, but for some reason I did.  Wow I feel stupid.  Any help here?

It all started on 08/09/07 this phone number kept calling me on my cell phone. When I would answer they would not answer. I would call and leave messages to stop calling. I even had my boyfriend call and try to get them to stop. I had even went and put my sell phone number on the do not call list and they are still calling 4 times a day. This kind of harrassment needs to stop. This is in away affecting my life, because I was answering it thinking that something was wrong with a family member of mine. We spread out all over the US. If this is some kind of a fraud this needs to stop and stop now. I am wondering if this a problem starting from when some of us out identy was stolen adn mailing, phone numbers was sold to a fraudulent company.
These calls start at about 6am and go till about 10pm at night.

Call your bank to put a stop to this company from getting any of your money, and you should never give any info over the phone to anyone!!!!!!!!! Everyone is getting scammed by this company.

Thanks for the info guys! you're saving me a good amount of grief and time.  I am going into the local bank branch tomorrow to cancel my checking account to open a new one.  I already called Washington Mutual (my bank) and told them about the situation and recommended transferring all money out of the checking account and since it was after hours, I will go into the bank tomorrow to cancel the account. I tried calling the Attorney General number since I'm located in California, but they are currently closed so I couldn't talk to anyone.  I will call tomorrow.  These people must be stopped,  what a freaking hassle to deal with this crap.  Thanks again Heiedi-Jo and Veronica!

I too have received a number of calls from this number! When I answer they hang up. I am a cop in Wyoming and plan on passing this on to the Fraud Division at my department.
