- CDSame here. A women with a foriegn accent called me from a fictious company called American Standard Financial and that they had $4500 of free government funds. She stated that all I had to do was pay a one-time fee of $359 and that she needed my bank account number. I kept asking her for their website and she said that another department would give me those details. Then I said, "if you can't give me a website, then why in the he11 would i give you my account number. Then she said, "let me get a manager to give you those detail." When she came back she said the website was down. Then i said, just mail everything in the mail and she hung up.

- Amber replies to hepp39I have just recently starting receiving these calls. The first few, like the last post stated, they said nothing when I said "Hello." The call a few times a day. They just called me and instead of my saying anything I just listened and it forced her, the woman with the accent to speak. I just kept asking her how she got my number. She just kept on with her prepared speech. I'm glad that I knew to enter this number in my search engine. So now that I am aware I will no longer answer these calls. It's unfortunate that we have people in the world like this today.
- MinI recieved many calls by the 425 area code from Washington on my cell phone. Everytime I picked up the phone would hang up or no-one would say anything on the other line. I decided to call back; when I did I got an answer machine. I told who ever it was calling I don't appreciate the hang ups and none speaking calls when I answer. The next day the same number called back. I answered and the lady with a accent apologized about the phone problems and started at me about my pel-grant money. I just started a school, and they new my name, address, and everything mostly already. They called themselves at first Amercian Finacial. They told me I had a grant of $4,500 with a chance up to $8,500 if I qualify when I fill out the paper work they will send me in the mail. I said WOW, really, I didn't have any idea, and I couldn't hardly understand the lady; she had an African American to a Jamcian kind of speech. The lady trasferred me to another person to take info and when she did it sounded like the same lady. I asked and she said, "no I'm not the same lady, we are from the same place." OKAY, I thought!!! She said they needed $359.00 to start the processing fee, lontime fee, transfers, documentation, and the automatic payment in my bank. While this was going on, she said I was being recorded for security reasons so the bank can hear what I said about do I understand this and that. At the end she told me to listen after the beep for my verification number. A recording of a man gave me a 7 number verification. The lady came back on and I asked her where I could reach the company. She then said at 1-866-569-2573. I said when are you guys available during the week? She replied Mon-Fri from 10A.M. until 4:30P.M. Well, I told my sister about this and she didn't think that this sounded right, so she looked it up. I called the 1-866 number and spoke to a lady that sounded identical to my original call. I asked her what was the business called again;she said American Funds Financial. I said okay, well do you have an e-mail address? She replied just go to grants.com; I said then what I have to look you up myself you don't have your own e-mail.? She replied yes, then hung up on me. Goes to show you how I got fooled, not thinking that it could of been a fraud, now I know it is a true fraud.

- SEMThey called me at my work number today, and knew my first name. The woman said I was being given a federal grant (garbled....) and that I wouldn't have to pay it back. I said, "now why would I be given a grant by anyone?" She woman became a bit flustered, and said "because you qualify by income", and then said, "I'll call you back tomorrow" and then hung up.
I wonder what turnip truck these nincompoops think we all fell off.... - AprilI received 6 calls from this number yesterday. After the 2nd call I googled the number, then blocked the number from my phone. I received 4 more calls that my phone blocked afterwards. I can't get a response at all from whoever is on the other end of the phone.
They called me August 27th at 9:05am, 11:07am, 6:33pm, 7:27pm, 7:50pm, and then at 8:33pm.
Even though I have the number blocked, my phone still counts the amount of times they call me. I am still getting calls today. Like everyone else, I just want to know what I can do to make them stop. Just the fact that I can't [***] the lady out because she doesn't respond pisses me off. - furiousI received tons of calls from this number too. I called back and it was a voicemail. Does anyone know who/what company this is?
- George replies to georgeThey called me too, and when they said I have a grant for 4500 dollars, I replied F..k you. and they never called again, it works
- tonyno one the other end of line. when the number is called back it goes straight to a voice machine
- sarahThey've been trying to get ahold of me for days, and finally caught me at home, today. I listened to the story, and before they could transfer me, he again (for the 4th or 5th time) asked if I had a valid bank account. I told him that I wasn't giving anyone my account number, and he hung up on me. I used to work at a bank, and you never give your account number to someone who calls you. Besides, real companies have their name show up on caller ID. I hope someone catches these people, soon.
