Yes, it is VIPKids. I only realized this based on the response above. They are located out of China and employ teachers to teach children from China English through webcam classes. I applied and wasn't interested in the end but they call anyway. It isn't a scam but they certainly make money off the teachers that do participate in their program.

I thought it was a telemarketer at first since it is out of Washington, but it was actually just VIPKid asking me to finish my application.  I still need to turn in my demo lesson before I submit the application.

It is not a scam.  It's an ESL distance education employment opportunity which matches qualified English teachers with Chinese students learning English.

I applied to vipkid a few days ago and am now receiving calls from this number. Might be a coincidence but seems plausible that it is vipkid. I never answer numbers (afraid of scams) like this but will if they call again to see if it is vipkid.

VIPKid. Their business in teaching English through web cam to Chinese students. I registered Monday, but haven't completed all the other steps (waiting for school year to end). They sent some emails before I got the call. It's legit. They're just pushy because the more people they get to teach a session, the more money they make. And they operate on Beijing hours, so I guess not too many people want to work online at 5:00 AM. I was referred to it by a co-worker (they're are contests for current teachers through referrals apparently).

This is true. I need to finish my VIPkid app and received an email from them right after this number called me, saying they just tried to reach me.

VIP Kid does have a US location in WA.  It is a reputable company but I don't think they call people randomly. You would have to have had signed up to be a teacher before they would reach out to you.  So this might not be their number.  As for me if it is a number I don't recognize I wait to see if they leave a voicemail. They don't it's either not that important or a scam.

This is not a scam at all. I am currently going through the process to get hired. It is for online teaching English to children in China. This work from home job has existed since the Internet has existed. Coby Bryant is actually an investor in this company as they are the largest and most successful company doing this. However you need to have a college degree to work for them so you won't qualify anyway.

It’s not a scam —VIPkid it’s an online tutoring platform for Chinese children. Look into them. They are a validated company.

It's not a scam, just very annoying. It's a company called VIPKids that organizes online English tutoring sessions for children in China, which is why it's registered in Beijing. The company is completely legit, but again, very annoying. LOL!

My girlfriend works for them. They teach Esl to elementary kids overseas. She loves it.

This is actually a valid website and yes, you teach Chinese children how to speak English.

Makes sense that it is VIPkids! I filled out a form asking for some clarification to the program.

They are in China and it is teaching English as a second language. They are a well known and legitimate company to work for. One of the tops for teachers. It is not a scam if it is VIPKids.

They kept calling me and I told them to STOP CALLING ME and the man started to argue with me!
