These people call me at least 20 times a day,  days per week.  I answered quite a few times and was hung up on.  Other calls I answered were recordings saying to wait for the next available representative.  I did wait a few times to talk to someone, but I was on hold like that for 10 minutes before I hung up.  When I finally did speak to someone, I was told I owed a debt to Sprint and I needed to pay it immediately.  I tried to explain to the woman that I have not had Sprint in over 5 years and my bill was paind off with them.  She began to be very rude to me, saying it was a debt I owed and I needed to take care of it or they'd report me to the credit bureaus.  After a verbal battle, I finally got her to tall me how much I owed and she said it was for $16.21.  I could not believe it.  She was making me feel like sh*t for less than twenty bucks!  She demanded my bank or credit card info to pay the bill and I told her no.  I told her to have Sprint send me a legit bill and then I'd pay it, but she said rudely that her company had "bought" the debt, so Sprint had nothing to do with it anymore.  I told her to stop calling me and take me off their list of calls.  Well, her response was to double their efforts to collect by calling me from 8am until 9pm Sunday thru Saturday, even on holidays!!!  I found a do-not-call letter online that I am filling out to send to these jerks.  I hope it will work!  I also took someone's advice on here and threatened to call the Attorny General's office to report them, but it didn't phase them as all. Somehow we HAVE to stop them from this.
I did some research and here is their information, in case anyone else is being harrassed!

    Receivables Performance Management, LLC

They are located at 1930 22oth Street SE, Suite 101, Bothell, Washington 98021. I even have a tool-free number for them. No more of me calling long-distance to them... It's 1-866-212-7408.

Accounts receivable for PG&E. They have tried calling via their 866-212-7408 number all day every day for weeks, day or night from people using different names, text messaging and now this number.

I picked up and talked to them at first and told them I thought the bill was in error, was leaving the country and would contact PG&E to see if the charge was legitimate or in error. The pushy lady on the other line said she understood then asked immediately how I would like to pay.

Upon returning from out of the country my inbox was FULL of messages from these people. I refuse to deal with them now, even if my charge turns out to be valid. I will only pay to PG&E directly if this is the case now. And am going to start reporting their harassment in every forum I can. These tactics are unacceptable, especially since my number is on the Do-Not-Call list.

UPDATE: I ordered Cease & Desist over the phone and the phone calls stopped. I warned that next time I would contact the Washington state Attorney General. They contacted me again and I bitched them out and let them know I was going forward with it.

I am now on the phone with PG&E, warning them of this company they are dealing with. Evidently they pass off their debts to an agency out of New York, and also this company. They have been warned of the tactics of this company.

This company is dealing with shady tactics and, quite frankly, I'm not comfortable with my personal information being sold off to the highest bidder. No where did I sign a contract or statement agreeing to this.

Do your part, put in a little effort and get these types of companies taken off the map. If they are willing to break the law to collect a commission off a debt, then they should be willing to tell the Attorney General why.

I am drafting a letting to both the AG and the Better Business Bureau.

Getting numerous call from RPM. Apparently this agency has over 400 complaints with the better business bureau in Washington. Below is the link.

Here we go. THEY ARE HIRING! Accounts resolution specialist. Guess they can't keep employees. Maybe they fear for their lives due to their extreme rudeness to consumers. To top it all off they can get an extra $500.00 a month. Probably for using swear words, being rude, threatening, hanging up on you, or being extremely annoying calling 20 times a day.

Court document for a case against them in Las Vegas.

5/30/2006 Colorado's state attorney general took some type of action against them. THe legal and administrative action report states they took disciplinary action on RPM "Admonition" was what AG calls it. I guess it was a serious warning. Don't know anymore than that.

calls at least 2 to 3 times a day. I'm at work when they call so I don't answer my cell phone.  it goes to voice mail but they don't leave a message.  It is getting really annoying.   If its a debet collector they are in for a surprise cause i don't owe any one anything.  They can make up all they want, they are not getting any money from me.

Received two calls today (I'm in NY). Wasn't home for the first and screened the second. No message was left on my machine both times. I Googled the name and number and found this forum. Has anyone received helpful advice from the BBB or other agencies? I'm not sure where to turn first.

Just bought my daughter a pre-paid cell phone and this number keeps calling her. Called her 3 times in an afternoon. I told her not to answer it, as it will take her time away from her phone.
I tried to call the number back and it says that the number is no longer in service.

    What gives?

I sued these people and forced a nice cash settlement out of them. It was quite satisfying!

I check back on these forum every now and then to see if these SOB's are still up to their old tricks, and it pains me to see that they continue to victimize people on such a large scale. Here are my suggestions, based on my experience:

Document all calls. Keep detailed notes. Never provide these people with any information. Regardless of what they say, you are under no obligation to prove yourself innocent. Download a copy of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act and familiarize yourself with it. If you send a cease-and-desist letter, use certified mail. Your receipt has powerful standing in federal court.

Do not count on the FTC or any state attorney general to do anything to defend you against these people. They simply will not act. Don't even mention the Better Business Bureau; they have no enforcement power, and the RPM representatives will understandably laugh if you threaten to report them.

There are law firms that specialize in consumer protection, and you may find one that will represent you on a contingency basis. That means you can smack these SOB's not only with a statutory settlement for yourself but also for attorney fees--and with attorney fees, the sky's the limit! You can use this fact to really stick it to the "collectors."

The dirty secret of the "collections business," I learned in the course of my defense against them, is that they usually have no legal claim against those whom they harass, even if the purported debtor really owes a debt. These "collections companies" are in reality shakedown rackets that buy names and phone numbers of people who may have owed money, BUT THE DEBT IS NOT TRANSFERRED IN ANY LEGAL SENSE. Thus they don't care if you once owed money to Sprint or merely have the same name as someone who did.

So please take heed: This particular company is a frickin' sitting duck, because they're in the U.S., subject to federal law, and their physical address is right out there in the open. Their business model is based on the correct assumption that most people don't know the law or, if they do, won't act on it.

Defending yourself is simply a matter of educating yourself, knowing your rights, documenting every contact with them, and finding the right lawyer. Better yet, find a lawyer who's hungry and will take your case to the next level, making it a class action.

Only thing they can do is keep calling and send threatening letters.
They are week, useless and can't collect a bill.  Just ignore them and they eventually will go away.  Get a job.
    Can't catch me.

I have never quite been able to understand why anyone would ever answer the phone when those losers call.

Everyone knows that the collectors are very abusive bottomfeeders, unqualified for any other job, who have a very casual acqaintance with consumer laws.

You answer the phone when you can see on your caller ID that the caller is, at the very least, questionable.  Then, when they harass and abuse you, you act surprised and complain about it.

So exactly why do any of you ever answer the phone?  Well?
