- Tamianth replies to aThey will say anything to further a scam, especially the extortion scammers. If you have a loan, first check with the company who issued the loan. Most of the extortion scam operations have stolen information. The FDCPA is very clear, within 5 day's of the phone call, they have to send hard copy. Neither Phone, fax or email are legal proof!
You also can not be arrested for owing a debt, its a civil matter, not criminal. Also see my post below for the FDCPA laws. - Tamianth replies to aFor Extortion Scam Operations, File reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,CFB,FTC & FCC..

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans
Washington, D.C.
December 07, 2010 FBI National Press Office
(202) 324-3691
The Internet Crime Complaint Center has received many complaints from victims of payday loan telephone collection scams. Callers claim the victim is delinquent in a payday loan and must repay the loan to avoid legal consequences. The callers purport to be representatives of the FBI, Federal Legislative Department, various law firms, or other legitimate-sounding agencies. They claim to be collecting debts for companies such as United Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Advance, U.S. Cash Net, and other Internet check-cashing services.
According to complaints received from the public, the callers have accurate data about victims, including Social Security numbers, dates of birth, addresses, employer information, bank account numbers, and the names and telephone numbers of relatives and friends. How the fraudsters obtained the personal information varies, but in some cases victims have reported they completed online applications for other loans or credit cards before the calls started.
The fraudsters relentlessly call the victim’s home, cell phone, and place of employment. They refuse to provide any details about the alleged payday loans and become abusive when questioned. The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - Tamianth replies to ConfusedFor Extortion Scam Operations, File reports with the FBI, your state attorney general and Department Of Justice,CFB,FTC & FCC..

Extortion Scam Related to Delinquent Payday Loans

The callers have threatened victims with legal actions, arrests, and, in some cases, physical violence if they do not pay. In many cases, the callers harass victims’ relatives, friends, and employers. - Kristinathis guy calls several times a day, finally blocked his number and now he is calling from a different number saying he is a "pretrail litigation agent." Scam!!!
- valHas anyone been able to get any form of address from these people?? If so I would like it cause I'm filing a police report on these people.I'm trying to get as much detail on these people as possible. They said they wouldn't even send me an email until I made a payment. Yeah right, not happening. I have a detail record of who I "talked" to and numbers and voicemail to give to policex I would just love to be able to get an address.
- valAnd btw, it's very inconsistent how they even answer their phone. One time I get a lady saying "How can I help you?" Without even saying the company name or anything. I didn't even get her name. The second time I called, I put my number on unknown and a lady answered just saying hello. A third time was the only time that a person "identified" themself.
- Kirk McCracken| 1 replyIf you have received a call from a collections firm representing itself to be Litigation Support Services in Cincinnati, OH rest assured it is not us. We are a court reporting firm that works with attorneys, not consumers. My name is Kirk McCracken, and I am the president of Litigation Support Services in Cincinnati, OH. We have now been informed that this collections firm is saying they are "legitimate" and giving out our website address as proof, www.litsup.com. If you receive any call from this firm, please document it and send this documentation to my attention (email contact is available on our website) or mail it to my attention at 817 Main Street, Suite 400, Cincinnati, OH 45202.
