Verizon wireless aggressive bill collecting, harass and call early mornings etc. and this is to "collect" monthly Phone and Data charges of which are the current moths charges before any pmt is even past due. Unethical, fraud based company just like the majority of other companies especially the king of fraud are the Insurance companies that sell you warm fuzzies to your face until you actually need them to do what it is they are actually paid large sums of money to do over a lifetime to only have them lie cheat and steal and do ANYTHING to delay, and deny pmt of legitimate claims. All by design!! Shameful!! . Verizon at least wait until a bill is actually past due and at that make sure its a legitimate billing.  NOT!!

Verizon Wireless calling for past due payments.

I know collection calls are not fun, but I would urge customers to call Verizon and work something out. They are super easy to talk with, and they really try to work with you. I started a new job and was juggling some bills for a few weeks. The phone bill was late. I returned Verizon's call and they set up a post-dated payment for two weeks in the future and stopped all collection activity and made certain service wouldn't be interrupted. The customer service rep was very nice and helpful. I was dreading the call, but I shouldn't have been. As the rep told me, they talk to dozens of customers every single day to set up payment arrangements. It's not a big deal.

I do agree this is somewhat true. For example, my bill was due June 11th. They called me on June 22nd to tell me that service would be interrupted unless I made a payment within 24 hours. I called. The rep - who was very nice - told me that my account was 37 days past due. I was understandably confused. I was also concerned this was being reported to the credit reporting agencies as 30+ days past due, when it wasn't actually 30 days past due. It was 11 days past due. The rep explained that the 37 days was an internal past due number, and reassured me that I was not being reported as 30+ days late to the credit bureaus.

He explained that Verizon's internal past due assessment has basically nothing to do with the bill we receive and its due date. It's actually based upon the last date of the prior month's billing cycle. And my last month's billing cycle had ended on May 16th.

I got the impression that it didn't make much sense to him either, and the customer service representatives aren't the ones who made up this weird and punitive policy.

But it's how they get away with telling us that we are past due even though we think we aren't. I thought I was 11 days past due (because payment was due June 11th), but internally Verizon had me 37 days past due because the last date of the prior month's billing cycle was May 16th. Whew. It's possible that your due date hasn't passed yet (unlike mine). In which case, I understand your frustration. I would call or write to the higher ups.

I just had this number call me ...It was Verizon letting me know that my bill was past due (was due on the 15th today is the 28th) I understand the point and hey if a million people owe them a 50.00 bill well even if they collect 25% of that its a BIG chunk of Change.....but thats the problem with all people they only make sure certain bills are paid on time, and the ones that don't report to a credit reporting company get paid very last.....its sad ....My only problem with this is when you do work for Verizon it takes them 90 days to PROCESS YOUR BILL that is different from PAYING your bill......If Verizon wants people to "pay promptly" maybe they should consider doing the same!

Verizon has called and texted my boyfriend multiple times in the past 4-5 hours. I understand his payment is 6 days late and needs to be paid as i've reminded him several times this week; However, the last time his phone was diconnected for late payment, he called Verizon right away and set up a payment for 2 days later(when he got paid). 2 days later, his service was still turned off and the payment had not been made. He called multiple times that day for an explanation but wasn't able to reach a cust. service  rep. 2-3 days later, his phone was still shut off and he still hadn't been able to reach them to find out why his service hadn't been reinstated. He finally got through to someone 4 days after his auto/scheduled payment date to find out the payment was not processed 4 days earlier because there were no payments scheduled in their system! My bf gave her the name of the individual he had originally spoken with, the date, time, length of the call, and the confirmation number but she still insisted he never called & scheduled a payment! I guess we are both liars since I heard/listened to the entire call(on speakerphone) he made to setup the payment. Verizon needs to seriously consider hiring more competent employees!

My point is about the same as above the bill text came this 3and these people are already calling. Perhaps we should start a class action lawsuit against Verizon for the. Overage data they they text into our phones ,etc ,i now have 40 +apps I personally don't use to run my phone. There must be some one more honest out there.

a Class Action Lawsuit. So when are you going to start it? It is your idea right, so I think you should be first in line to the lawyer to get the ball rolling.

Multiple calls stating our bill is overdue, we made a payment 15 days ago... online it says our next bill is due in 16 days. Now we have to spend another hour on the phone to figure this out. After last month when they tried to overcharge us by $300 for what was a "free" upgrade. Got rid of Fios, now we may have to switch wireless providers too... this company can never get it right.

Aggressive Verizon debt collector - even though bill was three - yes 3 - days late!  Abusive!  Near harassment!

If the bill is only "three - yes 3 - days late!" you wouldn't be receiving a call from a Verizon "debt collector". That's not how they work.
There's a big difference between a "payment reminder" and a "debt collector".
You would know long in advance if you were turned over to a "debt collector" because your "Verizon" phone would no longer be in service.

I agree. I have been with Verizon for years, and never really had a problem with their customer service. I find that the problem people complain about really started with them, the customer.

Why I received a thumbs-down" for stating the FACTS is beyond me. Awful touchy and easily offended aren't we?
I'm not saying Verizon doesn't have issues with the way they do business or their automated issues. I was simply saying debt collectors don't call for payments that are merely 3 days late. Maybe it was a scammer trying to pull a fast one on the person. The fact remains large corporations such as Verizon don't hand things over to a debt collecting slimeball and not hunt you down when you're only 3 days past due.

Seems your a bit touchy yourself! You know those 'thumbs' are like or dislike, right? Perhaps someone just didn't like how you explained it or didn't agree with you.  No need to get emotional over an assumption, they might not have  understood what you explained.

Mike, it was a pretty simple and easy explanation. Common sense and without attitude.
But if someone wants to thumbs down the easiest of explanations it shows how shallow they run.
    It's not brain surgery.
    Cheers.

I have 2 accounts with Verizon, the same number, one is -1 and the other is -2. I note the account number and invoice number on my checks (through bill.com) and they still put the funds toward the wrong account. So have have lots of extra in one account and negative in the other, so they call me to complain. Apparently they don't know how to move money from one account to the other.
