One point I've tried to make is that you don't need to "let them keep calling". The law says the collector must stop *WHEN TOLD TO*. Whether that happens by voice or in writing is your choice, but the latter mode is preferable.

What B.S. would that be, Mister Honest Angry Citizen? That people have rights and options when hassled by debt collectors known to break laws?

I wouldn't answer any calls from them.  Fact is I'd block their calls.   If they have anything of importance they can just send it to you by US mail.

Your best bet is a call blocker.

LOLOLOL! I love it! I read these and think... "do you really think the caller is going to read this and decide ' oh ok. I'll stop calling you' " PEOPLE. smh

It stopped amusing me after the first 155 times I saw this. Actually, it was never amusing. These hit-skip commentors think they have done something to solve their problem. At least I presume as much, and if we don't call them out, others will imitate until the thread is loaded with "stop calling" pleas.

This myopia is a problem on many complaint sites and comment sections, even the FTC blog. Makes me ponder requiring a license to use the internet, simply to deny access to people who can't slow down to read before writing.

You are correct bloom & associates are a collection agency and info can be found on Google.

Bloom & Associates is a real law firm, they specialize in debt collection.
If you don't pick up they will keep calling. If they cannot reach you,
they will file a judgement against you to collect the debt + attorney
fees.

Yep, agree with ya Res47, but at least when a body wants to know IF  something is happening with a strange # they get calls from, one can Google it and see the federal gist a strange phone number is having on other peeps who get a call from these annoying pests.

Call is from "Bloom & Associates", a legal collection agency.

If you're getting their calls, someone who's listed your phone with a Medical care provider, ie., a hospital, doctor, a medical testing entity, etc., has a medical bill that's overdue and these peeps are trying to collect that bill listed with your phone number.

So, complaining here, well, in this case, ya get a call from these peeps, somebody you've associated with does own a medical bill.

Sometimes, if it walks like a duck, and it quacks like a duck, well, ya need to face REAL facts. Nobody like to owe a bill.

I received a phone call from this number.  We received 5 minutes of music.  We hung up after that.

Just because a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt does not mean you owe it
If a voice on the telephone claims you owe a debt:

1.    Demand the person give you his or her name, company name, and address
2.     Demand a debt validation letter by US mail.  E-mail no good.
3.    Do not pay  the collection agent or anyone else a  DIME  until the debt is validated.

Of course they won’t do this, no scammer ever will, so simply block their calls and ignore them.

If they won't stop calling you, you can send them a cease and desist letter.   Certified mail, return receipt request.  Also consider a call blocker.

In this case, trying to steer people away from "dumb!" usage of this site, and to encourage constructive solutions to their problems. Why are you here, to sling your own feces through your cage bars?

I retract my suggestion re: Bluhm as the consensus points to the homophonic Bloom in another state. Confusion is easy, given that both agencies work the same debt category.

Nobody likes to be called about debts they don't owe, either. Bloom should be contacting "somebody [I've] associated with" and not me if it has a valid claim. Complaints here suggest excessive and possibly false skip tracing. None of the usual platitudes on display on the corpo website make any difference if "quacking like a duck" is the sound of FDCPA noncompliance.
