This # called me once at 1322 today.  I did not answer since I was indisposed at the moment.  Left no msg. Called me AGAIN at 15:23, same day. No msg left. I looked up the number, found this website, and read that they use an autodialer.  I used to work in "soft collections" in college (not too long ago). Autodialing on a cell phone is illegal, especially if they are aware that they are calling a cell phone.  I called the # back, spoke with Sara, and advised her that I received 2 calls from this number and it must stop or I will call lawyer, since this is a cell phone.  She stated it would be removed.  I thanked her, then terminated the call.

I got a call also - because it is in my cell I just blocked their numbers.

I just got a call from that number today.  But they didn't leave a voicemail.  I called back, and the voice said please hold. Then I hear a woman say First National Collection.  I hung up, and blocked the number from my cell.  

First National Collections Bureau. Slime balls. I answer and blast them with an air horn.

This number has called me more than once it, called me twice today not more than 30 min apart

Good for you, if I could afford to take a case to court ,I would, but I can't, so I won't.

The easy answer is to threaten a lawsuit. The difficult answer is to file a lawsuit.

No response when I answered. I called back & computer transferred me to an operator.

They call 3-4 times a week then stop for awhile ... never leave a message. As the result of all the above messages I know who it is. I don't have any debt.

This is a debt collector who is trying to collect outdated debts that are past the statute of limitations.  If you look at their reports on the BBB website you will see that they use bad business practices in order to attempt to collect the outdated debt  http://www.bbb.org/reno/business-reviews/coll ... arran-nv-103653

If you respond to them just tell them that the debt is past the statute of limitations and that they need to stop bothering you or that you can sue them for harassment.  Of course their recourse is to threaten you with litigation and giving you poor credit ratings....they can't do either.  They may even threaten you with jail....also can't be done.  They don't have a legal leg to stand on and therefore cannot legally collect on the debt.  If you paid this company they will in turn sell the debt to someone else and you will be harassed by yet another zombie debt collector.

Your best bet is to deny the debt or even tell them that they have the wrong number.  I found this website that is right on the money about how to deal with zombie debts aka debts that are past the statute of limitations...

Who did you hire to take them to court?  There are a couple of debt collectors I have some serious dirt on and would love to slam them with a lawsuit.

Don't be paranoid, there is nothing special about you.  This company harasses thousands of people every day using lots of different phone numbers.  See the thread at 800-824-6191.  Their game is to program a computer to call you a bunch of times and hang up when you answer, until you finally get curious enough to call the number back.  Then they will tell you that you owe money for some service you never bought, or for some bill you already paid off.  Or maybe they will be trying to reach someone else who had your phone number 20 years ago.  Just tell them you don't pay bills without written proof, and that you will sue them if they keep harassing you over the phone.  They will act rude and nasty but you probably won't hear from them again.

Got a call that came up as Local Office on CID.  Dallas isn't local to where I live, so I knew it was a scam. No message left, but thanks to posts here, I know who was calling. No telling who they want to talk to, but it isn't me.

But it's NOT Matthews Pierce and Lloyd.  Someone posted that on this thread a long time ago and other people believed it and kept repeating it.  You are right though that it is a scam: the caller id is being spoofed and is not really a Local Office in Dallas.
