Gesiah Thomas saying that he had several legal matters pending against me and that I needed to call him back or I would be served at my home or my place of business.

I got a threatening message saying their attorney was going to serve me at my work or home because of a debt I know nothing about. I sent a demand letter to an email that was very hard to obtain. And they just called and threatened me more instead of answering the demand letter

An attorney will never serve any court documents.  That has to be done by someone other than the Plaintiff or their legal representation.  What is their email address?

Received the same generic message today from Kate Thompson.  Sounded legit until you listen to the message a couple of times.  Will not provide detail on what they did wrong to expose themselves as a scam, don't want to give them any more information on how to sound legit to others as it appears from some of these posts several people are being scammed.

The same thing happened to me today. It’s so sad. This group is very smart. I have reported them to the FTC. It’s scary how much information they had on me

Unless you lied to the FTC about what type of call it was you were redirected to the CFPB which is the proper place to report debt collection complaints.  You should also report this to your State Attorney General.

I keep getting calls from this number and 1800 numbers in regard to this request. The company they used is Acumen Mediation and the name is also Kate Taylor as many of you have also said. I also get calls from 8553957980 and 6787918876 for the same company. My first red flag is that when I said I had forgotten my wallet at home to try to get her off the phone she said I could stop and put funds on a prepaid card and use that. Now she's continuously calling saying she doesn't think I'm serious about paying my debts so the attorney told her to close the account and serve me at my home or work and move forward with wage garnishment. I called the loan company I originally went with and they said my balance has been paid in full for years. Scary!
