I got a call 1 hour ago from that number. Didn't answer it.

It didn't even ring. They hung up before I could answer. 473 area code shows up as Mexico?

473 is Grenada and a few other Caribbean islands. Not sure but think the scam works like this... They ring you 1 time, you see the missed call and maybe call them back thinking "I got  a call from this number...". While they start the clock and bill you cell number like as tho you called a 900# or something, just the rate is a lot BIGGER! My call came from 472-520-9756 about an hour ago. I didn't answer or call back.

Got a call from 573-520-9759 just now.  It rang just a couple of times.  I did not answer it, tho the ring on my cell rang as a local call....and, of course, it was Granada.  If I was to call back, and I have free roaming, how could it cost me?  But, I would never call back a strange call.

I just got a call from this number. It rung the regular ring length. I called back and it said the phone was not authorized to call that number.

I just got a call from them calledd back and it said all servers are busy. Thanks for posting this i will be putting this number on the reject list.

Just got a call from 4735209759. Did not answer nor did I call back. Heard these calls from out of country can really hit you with the HUGE fees if you call or answer them

Same scenario here. Received a call from this number about 5 minutes ago, called back and no answer. I'm thankful for people who post about these experiences, keeps us cautious.

It USED to be spam calls from telemarketers...NOW i would bet its NSA putting tags on our phones to build bogus cases against U.S. citizens. The way they have their taps set up is we are only 4 phone calls away from a suspicious character(person of interest)..ever play 7 ways to Kevin Bacon? And did you know you are only a few acquaintances or known associates from the Daii Lama? Law enforcement software from ten years ago would spot A drug dealers neighborhood and every one in a 3 to 6 block area would be on the Know Associates list, even if you were squeeky clean and did'nt know the guy or his activity. Now the NSA has fine tuned it so that if I get a cal from some freak in the drug or terrorist community I am on the list. In order for them to frame and coerce citizens into compliance they can spoof a criminals number to your screen and phone records.They can frame you without your knowledge or complinace with the criminal. If i call someone by mistake or return a call to a freak, everyone else I talk to on the phone is also on the WATCHLIST!!!!!.

mmmm kay! Check your calendar. I think you've missed an appointment. Your meds. need to be adjusted.
Do you seriously think that a govt. agency has a care in the world about your activities? The NSA monitors foreign calls with a key-word program. By the millions per day. Do you actually think that the foreign fraud calling your number is causing so much as a blink to the banks of computers that the NSA maintains? You're obviously over-rating yourself. Not you nor the drug dealers on your corner garner the slightest attention from the NSA. As it should be. They have far bigger fish to pay attention to. You and everyone you know will never be so much as a blip on their radar. Now get a grip on yourself & re-schedule that appointment. Paranoia, delusions and manic behavior are symptoms that should be addressed. I recommend that you pay closer attention to your medication schedule.

There is  A link in the first few paragraphs. It's a long but fascinating article that you owe it to yourself to read, no matter where you stand on these issues. It paints the whole picture that hasn't been clear to many, and highlights just how dysfunctional the oversight has been of the NSA. And, if you weren't already impressed enough by Senator Wyden, the article presents even more reasons to be impressed by him (and depressed that there's only one of him).

it seems like a scam to keep you on the phone.  It keeps telling you to wait for the operator.

   I just receive a call of this type from (284) 541-5523 in the British Virgin Islands. It rang on my net-10 phone, I picked it up, and it hung up. I called back and I was told by my phone to check "call restrictions." I can call anywhere within the U.S., but not outside.
    Earlier I had received a similar call from (473) 520-9713 in Grenada. The last call this morning made me check it out. It will be noted that the local code is the same as the (473) 520-9759.
    A simple "cowboy" solution is to identify the persons and to remind them of their own physical vulnerability, and to let them be aware that they are personally responsible for any illicit affairs under their own roof. That said, these phone calls indicate a desperation born of an unhealthy dependence on a failing non-productive economy. It will hit first in the islands and smaller nations.

I just got a call from this same number! Rang barely once and hung up... I attempted to call it back but got a busy signal so I looked it up and found these comments!!! Wierd!

I just got the call too from 473-520-9759.  They didn't leave a message.  Came up as Grenada.  Some island.  I will NOT call them back nor answer if they call again.  Not taking that chance.

Yes, I, too, received the phone call from Grenada 473-520-9759.  It rang once and that's all.  I don't know the number, so I don't answer.  I then Googled the number.  As I suspected, it's probably a scam.  I'm glad I'm smart enough not to answer calls from those I don't know!
