Called from a " solar company"  when asked the first person what the name of the company was, they told me "green solar" (no such company so I played along and sent me to a live person when said the company was " solarus.com" (no such company either).  Played along, Tec going to call me back.

Number called my cell - no idea where the got the number (robot call?). Called back and got answering machine, with option to remove number from call list. Hope that works!

While my mother has relatives in Arkansas, she was estranged from them and none of us have spoken to them since before 1970. Doubt they are calling now.

            Didn't answer on the basis of all your reports....but how do you get them to stop?  I don't have a blocking option.  There should be a shjt-list whereby all the carriers suppress these numbers after a certain number of complaints. You can't tell me they don't have the technology to find the true caller....they have the information and it's only a few clicks away Maybe the FCC should just step in and do some televised "inspections" of their boiler rooms.

The DNC isn't a call blocker and can not protect you from the illegal callers, extortion scammers, foreign country's and frauds. Criminals do not obey laws simply said.    They use spoofed numbers which make it hard to track them down.. it takes time to do this and many subpoenas for call records.

Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number. For tracfone & straight talk:

For text messages: forwarding any text message spam you get to the short code  “7726,” which spells “spam” on most phones, to alert your network operator to the abuse. ATT won't accept 7726 But they will accept BLOCK and return a message that the web site is blocked. forward the texts to 7726 or BLOCK, depending on your phone carrier.
