I have been getting calls on a regular basis too. They don't leave a message so I don't know if they think I owe them for something or are trying to sell me a loan. I have blocked them also.

How about calling Dave Cherry consumer advocate on channel 5? He can send someone over and ask this company questions. Also call the Attorney General.

They called 7 times within a few seconds of each other. When I finally did answer the call, all I heard was a beeping sound. Sad part is I don't even know what they are harassing me for.

Same here, happened today, may 36, 2015.
Beeps until they close the call. No clue who they are or why they keep calling.

if you want to stop all the phone calls just file for Chapter 7 or 11.  And now, you can file your own BK via Legal Zoom.  Incurring debt is as American as baseball, hot dogs, apple pie, and chevy...Just keep on trying until you make it!!! Good luck to everyone!

Well, if you know where they are located, then you should know what to do.  A certified, return receipt letter telling them to stop calling along with complaints to the proper agencies, and a TCPA lawsuit.

Actually called me on number 480-333-6000 and said this is Paul Tyler and to call him at 855-852-9732 ext 26727. If it is indeed Green Tree Financial Services etc. or any affiliate they are trying to collect debts that have long passed the statute of limitations or it is not a debt at all. I never answer any calls I don't know and put them on my block list. Most of the time the caller never leaves a message. I had this number already blocked and got a notice that I had a voice mail. Piss on them.

Yes I do have debt but it's all located in my home state debt collectors non out of state. collectors also they have called my husband and myself harassing me with asking for my maiden name which I haven't had for over 15 years He wouldn't give me any information and he wont tell me what it was all about he kept asking if I knew that person but he went tell me why he was calling

These are scammers. Is your payment really going to the right place?

These are people who have hacked their way into the green tree data base. These people are not green tree but only scammers!!

If the other posters are correct and this is Greentree/Ditech this is the worst company ever. They repoed my house what do they want now. Will be blocking this number. Plus if they really want you to call them back maybe they shouldn’t say to call Ishmael back. Don’t they know most scam calls come from foreign countries. Next time try Bob.

I received a call from them yesterday at work about a second mortgage that I had with another company 10+ years ago and said that they are going to sue me for it.

Since it was a secured debt, had you not paid the bill they would have foreclosed on the house.  More then 10 years old?  OK, so unless you live in Kentucky they cannot legally sue you.

It is incumbent upon them under the law to prove that the debt exists and that you owe it, and (this is the important part) that they have the legal right to collect it.  You are not obligated under the law to prove that you don’t owe or that it is paid.  

Federal law (FDCPA) requires them to send you a letter (US MAIL ONLY) postmarked within 5 days of their first contact that contains their name, physical address, the creditor’s name, and the amount of the alleged debt. It also must contains “mini-Miranda” telling you that it is an attempt to collect a debt and that all information will be used for those purposes.  The one other important thing that this letter must also have in it is that you have a right to dispute the debt within 30 days of receipt of the letter and if you do so, all collection activity must be stopped until the debt is verified.  If and when you get that letter you should immediately send that debt validation letter by certified, return receipt mail.
