They claim to be a collection company, but have been trying to collect a "debt" that even if it existed, is long past any statute of limitations. The tactics they use and/or threaten to use are illegal and may get people a judgment against them. I recommend consulting with an attorney before speaking to these guys.

Constant daily calls

Got a call from 480-467-6700 today and they left a message saying they're from Greentree collection service and asked me to call 1-855-852-9732 extension 26783. When I called the number and entered the extension number, I got a message asking me to leave a message. I left a message to stop calling me. I have no outstanding debts and I have an excellent credit rating, so this has GOT to be some sort of scam.

These people contacted me claiming I owed for an online loan that I've NEVER applied for. Four years ago??!!??!!  Then the bank they claim I used I've never even had an account with them! Getting a lawyer and a new telephone number ASAP!!!

This number called claiming to be a mediation firm called Coastal Mediation and they represented Oakwood services (which already has a bunch of notes about being a scam). They told me I got a payday deposited into my account in 2011 and they never got their money back and they were going to take me to court. They, however, could tell me all information including bank account, social security numbers, names, emails, addresses, and place of employment during that time, which is scary. I kept trying to tell her send me proof of documents saying that I applied for a loan and she kept saying that she'd request it but I'd see the paperwork when I got my day in court... (red flag). Finally I asked to have Oakwood's direct contact information so I could talk to them directly and she hung up on me. What concerns me the most is her telling me my bank account and SSN... Scary... But they are definitely a SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM....

Actually called me on number 480-333-6000 and said this is Paul Tyler and to call him at 855-852-9732 ext 26727. If it is indeed Green Tree Financial Services etc. or any affiliate they are trying to collect debts that have long passed the statute of limitations or it is not a debt at all. I never answer any calls I don't know and put them on my block list. Most of the time the caller never leaves a message. I had this number already blocked and got a notice that I had a voice mail. Piss on them.

Unless you live in Wisconsin or Mississippi, there is no moratorium on the collection of debt past the SOL.  They simply can't sue you for it or threaten to sue you.
