- daleinaz replies to Amy johnsonAmy, don't "hope that someone does something". You are in charge of your life. Stop acting like a victim. Take action! Either get a call-blocking phone or blocking service from your carrier, and if any tele-scammer calls too often, just add them to the blocked list. Never answer calls that you don't recognize (especially toll-free or out-of-state calls) and NEVER call an unknown number back to see who it was. If it's important, they will leave a message. (And if they don't, it's obviously NOT important.) And, sometimes, (as here) they spoof the number.
I answered this call, and got a recording saying "you have won a free cruise to the Bahamas" at which point I hung up and added this number to my blocked list. So the number has nothing to do with Verizon, they are spoofing Verizon's number. Which proves that they are not ethical or legal, so i sure don't want to do business with them. - AZ momGot a call from this number today. Didn't answer and they left no message. Looked it up on Searchbug.com who said it was a Phx Verizon cell phone number. Thanks for the warnings. Didn't call back.
- AZ momAnother note...I received the call on my VZW cell. Verizon has a great, easy blocking service for their cell customers. I just go online and can list up to 5 numbers that I want blocked for 90 days. If this # calls back I will definitely block them.
- ScottSunday, 11:24 AM, Received a call from this number. Call blocked by phone app. It went to voice mail but no message was left. Did not call back, since I don't answer or respond to unknown phone numbers... Especially, those who are so 'ball-less' as to not leave a message. If Verizon wants to drum up new business, then I'd highly recommend that pissing off potential customers with spam phone calls is not the way to do it.
- Caller: Verizon
- Call type: Telemarketer
- ScottAnother note, in response to "AZ mom". Verizon is over-priced crap! I have unlimited call and SMS blocking on my Android phone, without having to put up with the limitations that Verizon places on it's customers, like a limit of 5 number for 90 days. To conceded to that stupidity is why companies like Verizon get away with the nonsense they've been doing for years, like asinine spam calls. I am not and will never be a Verizon customer under their current business model and practices.
- Caller: Verizon
- Call type: Telemarketer
- CarreGot a call from this number today. May 18,2015. I have a different area code but it is also in AZ.
- Information ManYou know when you answer these calls they log your number as answered at this time and date, etc...Then they sell this information to other parties so they know when to bother you. DON'T answer unknown callers unless you want MORE calls from telemarketers..Class is over, now go home.
- Caller: Cell Phone AZ
- Call type: Telemarketer
- NancyDidn't answer, they left no message. I've seen this number on caller ID many times before.
- PJ in AZANOTHER SCAM FOLKS! If you don't recognize the number on caller ID, then don't answer. If it is a bona fide caller they can leave a voice mail. DO NOT CALL REGISTRY IS A JOKE.
- William replies to deleted post| 1 replyWhere are you getting these "facts" ?
Your second paragraph makes no sense at all, it reads like gossip by stupid people.
Verizon and AT&T are not merging, and will never merge, as the two of them together control far more than 50% of the telecom services in the USA, and will not be allowed to do so by regulators.
There are no numbers held by either company that are duplicated in the other company.
Verizon has been selling off parts of it landline business for several years.

- NancyYup same thing, called my cell phone, when I answered they hung up. I tried calling it back and it just rings and rings.
- Very ScaredThey called and asked what I was wearing. I told them I was wearing one sock. I heard various farm animal noises on the other end, then a squishy sound. I asked to be placed on the do not call list.
- Caller: Verizon or Sex Line
- JY in PhoenixI get calls from this number daily. When I call the number it is Verizon recording gets on the line stating the number has been changed or disconnected.
I to am on the Do Not Call List and it is useless. Hard to believe that telephone customers can't have privacy without jumping through hoops.- Caller: Unavailable
- Call type: Telemarketer
- MureGot a call earlier today. ID showed a nbr but no other identifier, not even a city/state.
Answered, said hello twice and just heard background connection-noise, but nothing else. After the second hello, they hung up, never saying anything. I am on the DNC registry and this went to my home landline, not my cell.- Caller: no idea
- HutchCaller indicated I had stayed in one of their "luxury resorts." No mention of company though--call indicated from AZ. Started their spiel and I just hung up.
- Call type: Telemarketer
- PatMy experience this morning was accurately described in this post answering Ortencia:
