- VanI've been receiving calls from this number for a month or so now. The message was after a long pause the followng message has been left on my answering machine. "This is ACSI, we're contacting you regarding an important personal business matter, you may speak with an agent now by pressing 0. You may also reach us at 866.637.1808 during normal business hours. To avoid futher attempts to reach you, please act now." I finally called this number after reading these posts. I spoke to a very pleasant collection agency representative who requested the number that they are calling and then he asked if a person by the name of Julie Meyer had lived at my address. When I said no, he said that he would remove my number. I then asked how did they get my number in the first place and he said Julie Meyer gave it as her number. I said that I did not know a Julie Meyer. He they asked how long I had my number. When I said 20 years, he aplogized and repeated that he has removed my number. It sounds ligitimate. Thank you.

- MaxInteresting that so many people are receiving calls from this outfit. More surprising is that no one has posted the phone number or even better the fax number for Active Credit.
When I answer they will not identify themselves and hang up before I can advise them to place me on their DO NOT CALL list.
More later if I can come up with numbers for them.
BTW, I don't owe anyone so these are particularly annoying to me.- Caller: Active Credit

- MaxHmmm, as soon as I postged the last note the window reloaded and I found the phone number for Active Credit. I called them and was informed by a woman who answered the phone that DO NOT CALL does not apply to them.
I immediately redials and spoke with a man named Aaron. I was loud and made it clear that I have no connection to them or any of their clients and wanted my name taken off their call list. He assured me it would be done immediately.
My intention now is if I receive another call tomorrow I will call them again, and again, and again, anytime I have a few free minutes. Since my cell phone has all the time in the world on it I will pester them the way they pester everyone else. I may even make a sales pitch for obscure crap, offer carpet cleaning services, or better yet ask to speak to people that don't live their the way they do.
There should be a concerted effort to aggravate these [***] the way they aggravate everyone else.- Caller: Active Credit

- deani get these a few times a week. and decided to google it and cam e here.. am glad i did cause now i know who it is. i never answer unknown names and unknown numbers but that number made me curious.
thank you - UnbelievableI received a call today for the 1st time and thought what a odd number I'll Google it, so here I am. With all the cell phone scams out there I didn't want to just call it back. I don't owe anyone $ but I do know from working for the debt collection dept of Capital One and the "portfolios" of debt they would buy there are some laws that can assist us. For one if you get ahold of someone at the company & they refuse to remove your number they HAVE TO give you an address or fax number were you can send a cease & desist letter for further contact. If they contact you after this there are HUGE penalties by the FDCPA, your local District Attorney will handle it so you don't have to waste your time. Also if you actually speak with a person, legally they CANNOT call you again in the same day, again this waves a heavy penalty. I know it seems a waste of your personal time to deal with the D.A. if need be but if they are as unprofessional as it sounds in prior messages it will be worth it. Companies such as this purchase debt, they do a search that will lead them to phone numbers EVERYWHERE and just start calling in hopes of getting the one person who owes something, they will call neighbors, family , the person who lived at your address 15 years ago, etc. It's crazy. Also these companies have been known to sell the debt & portfolios as is to another company with all the wrong info marked as right, simply because it makes more money, so as pessimistic as it may sound once they are done it may not be over. I am only speaking from being on the other end and I can assure you there is nothing worse than calling the wrong people but I can understand the reactions. Hopefully they won't be successful & the calls will cease.
- SonoDavideI received a call from this number on my cell phone at 6 a.m. this morning but didn't pick it up because I was getting ready for work. Weird thing is that I just activated my first cell phone last week and I'm already getting calls like this! If this really is the Northwest Natural Gas Company looking for customers delinquent on their bills, why are they calling a cell phone in the S.F. Bay Area?
- annoyingi have been receiving calls from this number for over a year. they used to happen twice a day and now only once in a while. it annoys me that there is nothing we can do to stop these calls from coming in.

- NickThey've called me twice today. I answer, and there's nobody there. Anybody know how to get rid of them? I will find a way to stop them, no matter what it takes.
- Fed UpGot a new cell phone, and was assigned a phone number. Cell phone companies recycle cell phone numbers, so my new cell number was someone's old cell number.
Almost instantly, I got phone calls from 503-000-0000. Sometimes when I answered, a person would start questioning me about someone I never recognized. Apparently the previous owner of my cell phone number had defaulted on a loan and had given the cell phone number as a point of contact. I always explained that I was given this phone number by the phone company recently, and had no association with the previous owner of that number.
After about 9 months of harassment, they finally took my number off their list. At least I haven't gotten a call from them since April 2008.- Call type: Debt collector
- dudeindebtthis is active credit services. They are trying to hassle me about a past T-Mobile bill I'm trying to save up for. I just thought it was funny one post said he was going to contact T-Mobile to see how he can block the number.
I never answer their calls and recently they have switched their tactics a bit. The calls go to my voice mail and recently I have been getting messages but the message is from a recording saying that there is important information about my home loan or my home owners insurance or something like that and for me to hold the line or just push "2" or whatever. I rent an apartment so I know it's bogus even if I hadn't read this.- Caller: Active Credit
