Me:Hello
Phone: Silence. click click click Haloo
Man from Inda:Yes ma'am (doesn't address me by name) I'm calling from Windows to tell you your computer has been sending us warning signals that hackers have been using your computer.
Me: (should have hung up but I was in one of those moods to play with this guy) Really? How do you know?
MFI: We have been getting signals that they are using this for international banking
Me: Ok so what do I do?
MFI: I am going to give you some number (and letters) which took some time with his accent and do not give it to anyone. Are you writing this down?
Me: Yes (I should have said can you repeat that) dang
MFI: Now I will tell you where to look in your computer and if it matches then you are fine and I will hang up and leave you alone but it it doesn't then you are being hacked?
Me: Really ? because I thought you called me because you said I was being hacked. So let us just say for argument sake that it doesn't and I'm being hacked. What do I do? I'm not going to have you get into my computer so let's just say I am ..what do I do?
MFI: I'm sorry I do not understand (says the man with the heavy accent)
Me: I mean how do you know which computer it is I have several.
MFI: It's the one with the Windows operating system (cause that narrows it down)
Me: So is it my laptop, my desktop or my work one (which duh is at work so it wouldn't be that one)
MFI: That is what I'm telling you. If they use your computer for banking you will get busted.
Me: Oh ok well Why would I trust a perfect stranger to get into my computer.
MFI: I'm not a stranger..
Me: oh well then what is your name?
MFI: Roger (no longer strangers I guess I know his name)
Me: Roger, thanks for the info I will get this to my son. He's a computer genius.
MFI: I'm sure he's a computer genius but he doesn't know the windows operating system.
Me: Oh he's good. Trust me.
MFI: Ma'am (still doesn't know my name) Your certificate has expired and the pings we are getting. I'm trying to tell you
Me: I said what if your the hacker?
MFI: He said why would I be the hacker if I was I would be in your computer...
Me; Well I'm not going to let you in
Me: (getting bored now and hungry) Roger, thanks so much for calling but this has really been a big waste of my time. CLICK- Caller: Windows support group

- SteveGot a call from this number a few minutes ago. Will block. If you're in the mood for a frustrating event, you could report them to your state do not call list if you are on one, the feds, Microsoft, and the phone company, but I would bet nothing would come of it. First off, don't answer. If you are at the phone connect and the immediately disconnect the call. If you can, block the number. This is one reason I got Ooma. Enhanced call blocking. My nuisance calls have decreased dramatically since I employed their call blocking capabilities.

- SFMan identified himself as "Roger Williams" with heavy Indian accent. Said he was with IT from Windows Operating System. I told him that I have a form in front of me from the Division of Consumer Affairs in Florida and I want to fill it out, will he please give me some information? He says ok, but tries to tell me I am being hacked and how he is going to help me fix my computer. I get everything I need for the form so I can mail it in and make an official complaint. Then I tell him I have a Mac and a Chromebook and I haven't turned my Windows laptop on in 4 months. The best part was when I asked him his business address and he didn't know it. Then he asked me to wait a minute - I hear furious keyboard clicking - and then he had it for me. I can Google "Microsoft" too, you moron. Geez, these scams are disappointingly lame. Does anyone fall for this?!

- TiaGot a call some man with a heavy Indian accent. Stumbling and bumbling through his speech about in the last few weeks they have been getting an error message from my computer. So, I say, "You're full of &^*&" and he goes "Excuse me?" I say "You heard me. You're full of it. What company is this?" And he hung up. Unreal!

- Patricia LynchThese people continually call me and I just hang up on them. Hopefully one day they will get the hint.
- played with themHi All - I had received the same scam a few weeks back, only caller ID showed all 0's. I had acted "stupid" to that caller and kept them on line and wasted their time for about 10 minutes. Finally, after I had enough of their BS I called them out on their scam and the foreign accented guy laughed and laughed. I do not answer unknown calls, but today felt like "playing" again. The "hardly could speak English" gal (sounded about 10 years old), gave me the same BS about being from Windows. So I pretended that I was at my computer, only when she told me to push the "flag" and the "r" like roger at the same time, I kept telling her I typed in roger, asked her if I spelled it right r-o-g-e-r. She kept telling me to push the two keys over and over and over. I also used the excuse I could not understand her, or the call was hard to hear. This went on for about 6-7 minutes, finally it gets to the point where I wanted to just burst out laughing and tell her what an idiot she was. Before I could do that, a man took over and kept telling me to push the two keys again. I let him sit on the line while I put it on "hold". Would you believe the idiots kept dialing the phone for another 6 times. I have now blocked the number. Just a suggestion, (if you have the time), play with the idiots, let them think they have a sucker, then call them out on their scam. If we all did it, we might be able to wipe them out one by one and let the gov't get rid of the do not call list. It doesn's apply to the foreigners anyway, doesn't work, and just look at the money we could all save in tax dollars. Thanks all for listening.

What a world we live in ! - JakeHuge scam they want to remote into your computer and install their malware then when your computer will not run they want a payment of two to four hundred dollars to remove it. Do not give anyone access to your computer do not give them any information such as IP or anything. Just hang up on these jerks or have them hang on the line while you say you are getting the computer.
