- AmberThey have called me twice. The first time it said something about a trip to the Bahamas which I hung up on them. The second time it was something about a "great customer" award and some hotel thing. I asked what company it was and I had never heard of it so I hung up. It was something about customer rewards or whatever, I don't remember the full name.

- AwareMan| 1 replyReceived call from "New Mexico" at 505-738-0496 on my cell and supposedly won a free trip to the Bahamas if I answer a small survey. WHILE it (the robo caller) was ranting about the offer my LANDLINE also rang from the same robo caller (testing) to see if both numbers belonged to me. This scammer has called before, time to block this number.

- Mary replies to AwareManProbably spoofed to just look like a NM number. I KNEW it was familiar and had probably called my cell before, heaven only knows why I picked up anyway, doh. Why didn't I listen to my gut? My only excuse is it is early in the day and I haven't had my coffee yet. Oh well.
- PjThis has called me multiple times in the last month. Just called it back and it's some type of survey. It gives you the option to take your number off the list from future calls.

- Josh| 1 replyThe Republican Led Congress signed a Bill in November 2015 to allow Debt Collectors and Telemarketers to Call our Cell phones. How do you like that?
Robocalls to cell phones: This is just wrong!
It's been illegal for debt collectors to robocall your cell phones without permission. But a provision snuck into the federal budget last fall would change that, allowing debt collectors to robocall anyone with student loans or back taxes. Even if you don't owe money, but a relative does, you could be robocalled!
After public outrage, lawmakers filed a Senate bill to repeal the provision before it takes effect this spring. We have momentum -- the bill has 15 cosponsors in the Senate already.
If Congress had been required to vote on this idea as a stand-alone bill, it wouldn't have had a chance. That's because no American wants robocalls to their cell phone. Tell your Senators to add their names as co-sponsors of the HANG UP Act and vote YES when it comes to the floor for a vote!
If you live in OR, VT, MN, or MA, then both your Senators are already on that list, so tell them to push for a hearing. (To make sure we get your message to your Senators, please complete the entire contact information form).

Um...
Not quite true.
You really need to read this, for understanding:
http://www.acainternational.org/governmentaff ... ment-37377.aspx
Note:
1. The bill was BIPARTISAN
2. It refers ONLY to debt owed the government
3. There is NO "approval" for telemarketers to use robodialing.
Scammers use illegal robodialing to call both landlines and cells ... they do this without approval, and in violation of law.
https://www.fcc.gov/consumers/guides/robocalls
Note this paragraph:
Your written or oral consent is required for ALL autodialed or prerecorded calls or texts made to your wireless number. Telemarketers have never been permitted to make robocalls to your wireless phone based solely on an "established business relationship" with you. - hearsetrax replies to Craiggot a call from these jokers twice in the last 24 .... blasted bass-turds
