These ppl called and told me to go to the bank and take out everything I had to send them to not be arrested. That I owed the irs. They told me to stay on the phone with them all the way to the bank.  I kept asking questions but they gave me very minimal information but they scared me enough. I've never known of any of these kind of scams until now.

This is the same scam call by an Officer Shaun White that had been originally posted on a different number.  It appears they have changed the number that shows when he calls - but the scam has not changed.

Officer Shawn White said they needed a call from us or our attorney regarding a debt.  We would go to jail if not taken care of

Office Shawn White has been a busy s.o.b. today. He just called and told us that we owed money, that he wanted the name of our attorney, and if we didn't pay. we'd go to jail. May old Office White rot in Hell.

I'm currently in the hospital from having surgery. I get my voice-mail through email. This is what I just recieved.
Voicemail from (509) 288-4987
"Patient division Internal Revenue Service. The issue at hand is very time sensitive. The very second you receive this message I need you all your region attorney to give us a call. This is Officer Sean White. My hotline number will be 509-288-4987. I repeat it's 509-288-4987. Now don't disregard this message and do return the call. If I don't hear from you or your attorney either the legal situation unfolds on you. Have a nice day. Goodbye."

I just received the same message. That it was the irs and they needed a call from me or my attorney. It never mentioned my name in the message so I put the number in and see officer Shaun white called a lot of other people as well.

He left a voice message so part of it got cut off.  I think I heard a slight Indian accent though.  Something about a legal action if he's not called back.  Didn't even hear anything about the IRS--just a 'legal situation'. lol

I just received the exact same message. I don't owe any money, and for sure do not owe the IRS! Did you call them back?

Received same message tried calling from another phone first attempt said Verizon customer was not available second attempt just rang and rang.

He said his name is Shawn White and he is with the Irs and that I was suspected in a crime of some sort and that I needed to call back or my attorney or it would result in me going to jail.. I Called back and told him that he could be anyone and I would take my chances in not futhering this phone call and hung up.

There is a widespread IRS (or CRA) or "tax scam" being  practiced by scammers on both USA and Canadian residents.

Short answer:
The IRS never initiates a contact via phone.
They always send a snailmail first.

Busy, busy Officer Shawn White! Just got a call from him at 11:55 a.m. informing me of a security breach that needed to be addressed as an "emergency" and to call him right back on this number. Reported to local police fraud division.

Got the same call here.
This people need to get a job.

I got a similar call but they didn't ask for money the first time... Very scary but a complete scam...
