Did they tell you there was a problem with  your computer??   Apple does NOT cold call & there is NO WAY they could tell you have a problem. .

my phone has been compromised last a couple of years due to having worked for a company, I believe some of hidden ITs cracked my personal data to steal my information. This hacking event didn't finished but went more till even though i have a new phone or new apple id, my phone got hacked and i had several credit card issues and etc..  I called apple customer care to report that my new iPhone temperature is higher then the room temperature. Then i got the call from 512-884-5022 claiming Apple customer care and answered few questions I made. After I researched the number, it says Centrelink in TX. It seems Apple pays Centrelink to answer phone calls for customers. I believe 100%, the number is a fake apple customer service.

Just received a call from this number.  Came up on Caller ID as Apple, Inc.  Let it roll to voicemail.  Woman stating they needed more time to work on my case and that it had been escalated.  Asked if I had tried certain steps, etc.  Gave some '888' number to call back.  No idea what this is about.  Not calling back.  Probably trying to phish for info.

Sure it was. Then why are you here? You obviously already know who called you so there's no logical reason for you to look up the phone number.

I scheduled call with Apple Support and this number left a voicemail confirming a time for my call the next day along with brief detail about the support issue I was having. Wasn't expecting it to be a random number in Texas, but if you have work from home support employees and they need a number assigned for outbound caller ID - this is what happens.

If this was a "spam" call, then I spoke with spammers last week who mailed me a new fully functional Apple watch and included return packaging for the old watch that needed repair. They also followed up to make sure the new watch was working appropriately. So...yeah.

I would have found you post a bet more honest if you had phrased it:

Funny how after several posts here reporting unsolicited calls claiming to come from "Apple", you suddenly show up here with an elaborate story (more like a fairy tale) about how "valid" these calls are.  Almost like you are a shill for a team of scammers trying to do damage control after discovering that your scam is being pointed out to the world.

You "scheduled a call" and they called you back.  Then you ran right out to look the number up?  Absolutely no reason to do that.  Your whole story has more holes in it than Swiss cheese and I think that the cheese is actually jealous.  Stupid shills that come here to lie don't get extra credibility because they registered their screen name.  Simply makes it easier for us to be sure that we called you scummy, dirty, filthy lying crooks because we know that you can see that.

Just because I can come on here and leave an articulate honest response does not make me a "shill". I scheduled a call back from Apple and this call came through around that scheduled time, but as I was not aware of what phone number they would be calling back from, I did not answer the phone the first time assuming that is was in fact a telemarketing call. The words "Apple Support" did not appear as part of the caller ID.

So for everyone else checking on this, if you are expecting a call from Apple Support because you personally initiated a request for service on an Apple product that you own, then perhaps you can safely answer this phone number. If you own no Apple products, and are NOT expecting a call from Apple - please by all means ignore this number. Again, my experience was not malicious. If a scammer is spoofing an outbound Apple Support number and calling people back at/around a scheduled time for a call back, and they happen to know and have the serial number of the product you are requesting service for and actually providing repair services without requesting payment...well that's just some next level confidence pyramid scam shiz.

A shill is a knucklehead who tries to get people to believe their BS story of how good things went for them. Your story is just another pile of BS about a callback?.... and a new watch?.... with an old one to be repaired....lol
Only an idiot would come up with such crap as that and think to them self how brilliant it sounded. The 'back-peddling' is a nice touch and common when caught shilling.

Pretty full of yourself?  No, leaving a post does not make you a "shill".  The content of the post does.  You didn't answer the call, found out that they left you a message and then came here to look the number up even after you knew who called?  Why would someone do that?  There certainly was no need to do that since you had all the information that you needed about the number.  It does appear that you are trying to do damage control because of the negative comments in this thread and that is why you are a "shill".
