My iCloud is locked; it appears that this number is from a scammer because they were unable to unlock it

I believe this to be a false number although that would also mean that my Apple support app is compromised. when I do a reverse number search on it, of course for comes up, but there’s nothing else about it being an Apple number and the people at the Apple Store said it sounded unlikely, but didn’t think it was serious enough to investigate.

Why would you be paranoid enough to think that your "Apple support app is compromised"?

Scam call that spoofs the Apple Support number from Texas. Message was left asking if I still wanted to speak to an advisor. However, I did not contact Apple for anything. Message then asks if I want to reschedule the call. With no response, message then states they will call back in 15 minutes. Less than 3 minutes later, they call again saying this is my last chance. Then it says they will send and email to follow up.

If you did not contact Apple, do not press anything and do not answer any questions about your Mac, iPhone or email.

Called at 10 pm. I don't even use Apple products. Spam!

I've been hacked for 5 years.  Yeah...5 years but that's another story.  I called apple support and wanted a call back to set a genius bar appointment.  My phone rang as a call from "Apple".  I picked up and there was a machine saying that i scheduled a call back, if I'm ready hit 1...something like that.  However, before the last sentence was finished it was cut off on the last word.  I hear a weird noise...I looked at my phone and now it says the call was from "Inc, Apple".  I go ahead and see what these guys are trying to do.  It was a lady said I was asking for a call back and I said yes. I told her i need a genius bar appointment.  She sounded stunned after I said that and asked if I need technical help that she can help me.  I said nope...I need an appointment.  She then says ok and just silence over the phone.  I asked whats up and she said she is writing notes.  Why the hell she writing notes when I'm asking for her to get me an appointment??  Definitely she was not writing notes and was trying to navigate to the Apple site to make me an appointment.  She then proceeds to ask me for my email and zip code (that's what you need for an appointment set up).  I asked her why she need that?  That information should be right in front of her on her computer and that i called for a apointment a few days ago and they didnt ask me that.  She said she has to verify.  Yeah right.  I gave it to her and she got me an appointment.  I went to the Apple store and my 4:30 appointment was in there system.  I asked if they could tell where my appointment was made...he said online.
